DUTIES: Design and develop software for commercial support for the open source database MongoDB, a NoSQL database that stores data in JSON-like documents with flexible schemas. Work to better understand the customers and their needs, improve existing web applications, and identify new opportunities. Work as part of a core team that will work from research to strategy to definition to launching of MongoDB web applications. Identify user problems, serve as an assertive advocate for the user, and facilitate a user-centered product development process. Own the end to end design of the MongoDB cloud platform (automation, atlas, backup) area including defining the interaction design, information architecture, content strategy, and visual design. Conduct and synthesize customer research findings to ideate on design solutions with researchers, product managers, and internal stakeholders. Work with other designers and researchers, using qualitative and quantitative research methods to test existing products, identify gaps and usability issues, create a set of user personas to help the company better understand its customers and find new opportunities for growth. Collaborate with product managers to ensure solutions meet business objectives and satisfy our clients. Coordinate with engineering team to work through technical issues, feasibility issues and the implementation of the designs.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Technological media communications, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related position.
