At LendInvest we’re making property finance simple, to do this we’re creating products and tools that make it easy to lend and invest in an industry that is known for its complexity.

The property finance space is outdated. Heavily reliant on manual processes, gathering physical reports packed with dense data and relying on human intervention to make sense of it all. We believe we can do better so at LendInvest we’re turning this on its head.

We use technology to provide borrowers with property finance and make it possible for investors – from individuals to global financial institutions including HSBC & JPMorgan – to invest in the loans we originate in return for a stable income. We’re the UK’s leading marketplace for property finance and one of the country’s largest non-bank mortgage lenders.

About You

As a Product Designer, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end experience for our lending platforms; working in close collaboration with product managers you’ll take digital products from inception to delivery that meet customer needs and business goals.
You'll help shape not only our products, but also our culture and team.

We’re looking for someone who has extensive end-to-end product design experience. For us this means:

  • Experience in research and requirements gathering, analysing data, defining product strategy, user journeys, service maps, logic flows, UI/Interaction design.
  • Built and shipped applications/software in cross-functional teams
  • Can demonstrate strategic product thinking and vision.
  • Excellent communication skills with both stakeholders and developers
  • Worked with design systems and accessibility best practices
  • Likes using modern tools such as Sketch and Figma
  • A portfolio with detailed case studies of UX, UI, and interaction design work

About your work

This is a greenfield role and would be a great opportunity for an established designer looking to remain hands-on or a Mid looking to step up and take more responsibility.

Reporting directly to our Head of Design, you’ll familiarise yourself with our internal and external customers, data-sets, tech stack, and roadmaps. You’ll meet the LendInvest tech team and understand our approach to design, our products, and ways-of-working. We endeavour to get you up-to-speed as quickly as possible so you can hit the ground running, making small iterations and delivering immediate impact on our products.

After getting hands-on with our existing products and identifying some quick wins, you’ll collaborate closely with product, engineering, and the business to develop our roadmaps and plan for the future. You will communicate your vision across products, proactively engaging stakeholders and teams and finding ways to incrementally deliver it. Working with the product design team you will ensure design standards are being met and continue the development of our design system.

You will champion design throughout the business and promote human-centred methodologies, helping the wider team to embed them in their day-to-day work. The work your team does will be centred around safeguarding our customer’s user experience and trust in our brand.

About the Team

Our tech team is ambitious, striving to become the best at what we do by delivering simple and innovative solutions that provide demonstrable value.

The technology team comprises around a third of our total workforce, and comes from a diverse range of backgrounds (from lawyers to animators) and countries (from Russia to South Africa). We work to agile principles, making use of kanban to push changes to production frequently, and encourage transparency through daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and weekly tech demos to the wider business.
