About the group you’ll be joining 

The Manage Teams Group is on a mission to empower large teams with flexible configuration and team management capabilities. The group is responsible for driving core product capabilities and seamless user experiences for teams to set up and manage Canva so their team members can thrive! This group is working on a number of exciting initiatives that have a huge impact on Canva’s overall strategy and growth.

Within this group, the People Management team is responsible for all features relating to helping customers to organise people in a team, from team invitations, creating groups, auto-provisioning of users to UX/UI of the People Page in Canva. This team owns one of the key strategic pillars for the Manage Teams Group, and plays a critical role in winning large organisations to set up and use Canva. You will also have the opportunity to help define the the People Management vision and roadmap!

About you

We are searching for an experienced Product Designer to help us create a seamless experience for team administrators in Canva. This includes defining and delivering end-to-end experiences that empower team admin and users to set up and manage their teams and organizations in Canva. You will work in the People Management team and you will take care of topics like:

Onboarding admins into teams and organizations: making it easy for users to get oriented
Enabling admins to organise and managing people in Canva teams and groups quickly
Help admins set up the right roles and permissions across their team and organization

You have a team-focused design mentality and are excited to leverage every aspect of the user-centered design process to tackle challenging user problems and are comfortable collaborating with stakeholders across Canva to achieve alignment and buy-in.






Goals you'll achieve in the first 0-12 months

  • Meeting teams and building up relationships with different parts of the business.
  • Understanding the Canva product, our Teams offerings and our 2023 strategy.
  • Familiarise yourself with existing design patterns and systems.
  • Understanding the different verticals Canva is targeting and their needs.
  • Working with research to understand our users, and identify opportunities for team administrator product experience improvements based on user insights and business strategies.
  • Delivering the product design for prioritised team admin and users.
  • Contributing to the vision for how team admins manage their people on Canva

What you’ll do

  • Drive Product Design projects end-to-end within the People Management team.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Leads to make sure you’re prioritising the most important features/experiences.
  • Confidently and clearly communicate future design directions with key stakeholders.
  • Research competitors, trends, patterns and best-practises, UX design inspiration, user and business insights.
  • Design to Canva’s high standards of simplicity and usability. 

Experience you'll have

  • A few years of product design experience, ideally with experience designing collaboration software for teams.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates experience in product thinking where you have previously shipped UX/UI design for digital products.
  • You are a designer that is constantly inspired—motivating those around you through your passion and drive for what you do.
  • You are excited by regularly coming up with new ideas, shipping new products and features that address your users’ real needs. 
  • You shine through your designs—creating user flows and wireframes that simplify user interactions 
  • You are eager to visually communicate your ideas through prototypes to test with users.  
  • You thrive in a collaborative workplace; partnering with other designers, engineers, product developers and other disciplines throughout the company.
  • You appreciate big-picture thinking. While details are everything, creating an experience that always keeps our users in mind is equally as important. 
  • You are a problem solver that’s excited by a challenge. You enjoy sitting in a room and whiteboarding ideas to confidently come up with simple, elegant solutions that everyone can move forward with.  
  • You are an empathetic user advocate that values the backing of research and data analysis when it comes to designing modern solutions. 
  • You enjoy a little flexibility in your work. Our growth means there are constantly new things to work on every day, as such it’s likely that you’ll often be working across the board on new and exciting projects.
