THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a talented Product Designer Lead to join our Technology and Product Team remotelyin Lisbon!

YOUR IMPACT

The candidate will be responsible for helping to define product direction and set the bar for design. In addition, staff Designers are technical leaders within their teams and for the entire Gympass UX community. 

•  Lead the technical vision of your product area alongside product and engineering leaders;
• You are shaping the roadmap for discovery activities in line with your team's goals, providing information from the user's perspective;
• Collaborate closely with the product leadership to define features and contribute to the overall direction of your product area;
• Work in close collaboration with Design Leadership to inform and improve our design processes;
• Interview new designers and actively advise on our design hiring process;
• Lead by example—do phenomenal work and help people on the team learn how you do it through mentorship and coaching. Staff product designers are considered a reference for the entire product team;
• Perform research and user experience tests, being aware of the competitive landscape;
• Work on prototypes, validating design concepts with stakeholders and customers having in mind when to apply the pixel-perfect approach to the UI and when to make sketches and prototypes to validate quickly;
• Create and develop new features and changes on our product, achieving outstanding performance through the high aesthetic level;
• Let user needs lead the way, applying the best practices to guide us to the best solutions.

WHO YOU ARE

• A person who clearly aligns with our culture and work dynamics, not only capable of thriving in it, but also helping Gympass to keep bold, young and in constant expansion;
• Minimum of 7 years of successful professional design experience, preferably at Technology Startup companies; 
• Experience designing digital platforms or applications;
• Experience with designing and setting up user testing and research studies;
• Deep knowledge with User Experience processes, service design and information architecture;
• Experience working with product managers to develop the strategy and rationale for features;
• Experience with prototyping as a means to explore and convey design solutions;
• Experience and interest in UI design is essential;
• Must be proactive, has the ability to think outside of the box and hands-on profile, to fit with our start up culture;
• Excellent communication skills are a must, you need to be able to articulate ideas clearly when speaking to groups in Portuguese and English.
