Product Designer II, Containers

We’re looking for a Product Designer that can understand the container observability needs of developers and turn them into elegant and delightful products. Containerization technology is evolving fast, so while a solid foundation in cloud computing concepts is helpful, we are looking for someone that is excited and curious about this space, and has experience learning new technologies first-hand. As the designer on the Containers Observability team you’ll work with a talented team of technologists and subject matter experts to understand customer needs, and design workflows that meet them. You’ll also be a member of a supportive pod of infrastructure product designers that collaborate to improve each other’s work and create useful cross-product experiences. 

What You’ll Do:

• Work with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to understand how our customers use Datadog and what they need to succeed
• See your design work through from start to finish: turn insights from user research into ideas, sketch and prototype to bring them to life, and ship products and features that make Datadog better
• Become an expert in your product area
• Communicate both your design work and the support for your design decisions across the company
• Work closely with engineering teams to understand how your designs will be built

Who You Are:

• You have 4+ years of experience in digital product design
• Your portfolio includes a proven track record of shipping visual and interaction design work in web applications
• You are an excellent visual and written communicator, able to clearly communicate your design work and the support for your design decisions
• You have experience with advanced prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Protopie, Principle, Framer, Sketch)
• You understand systems thinking and component-based design patterns
• You give and receive feedback well, supporting and improving the work of your colleagues as well as your own
