About the role:

Hi, my name is Lauren and I am the CEO of Found and acting Head of Design. I care deeply about building beautiful, intuitive, trustworthy, and accessible products to enable our self-employed customers to focus on doing what they do best. I work with our designers every day to take a really challenging problem space--bookkeeping, banking, and taxes--and create visuals and experiences that our customers love. We ask all of our designers to collaborate with product, engineering, and the rest of the design team on everything from user experience to visual design to scalable design systems.

We’re looking for team members who believe that financial services don’t have to be ugly and scary, but instead can be clean, clear, and enjoyable to use. As a member of our growing team, you’ll be directly responsible for building out and shaping what we build. Some recent team accomplishments include: 

• A full revamp of our information architecture.

• An established Design System, so you’re not walking into a tangled mess (we call it Cruz).

• Weekly “Design Snacks and Feedbacks” hour with all designers to talk about what we’re working on.

Day to day, you will:

• Partner with product and engineering to define, create, build, and release new features across both our mobile and desktop touchpoints.

• Own your perspective and designs from idea to fully built execution.

• Deliver well documented flows to engineering.

• Communicate your design concepts via mockups, flows, wireframes, and prototypes.

• Contribute to and follow Found’s design system and brand guidelines.

• Collaborate on product planning, prioritization, and product roadmapping.

To thrive in this role, you have:

• 3+ years of experience designing digital products and systems across mobile and web platforms. You have a wide range of knowledge when it comes to product design— from broad interaction systems down to precise visual details.

• Excellent communication skills. You feel at ease presenting your ideas, thoughts, decisions, and processes clearly and concisely, whomever the audience.

• A beginner’s mind. You’re not intimidated by the unknown. Instead, you welcome uncharted territory with open arms and an open mind because you’re an adventurer at heart.

• A sense of humor. You welcome feedback, and when you stumble you get back up. You adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and you feel an inherent need to grow and learn.

You may also have:

• Experience with Figma, our design tool of choice.

• Motion/animation design experience.

• Previous startup experience and/or demonstrated flexibility, initiative, and founder-focused mentality necessary to be successful in a startup environment.

• Experience or interest in financial services, accounting, and/or self-employment.

• Passion for learning and growing as a designer and team member.
