What’s the role?

The AppX team is evolving our core e-commerce experience in our native iOS and Android apps. As more of our buyers are moving from the web into our apps, this team is helping to scale app design and development by using insights from web product teams to evolve our native buyer UX. The product designer on this team should bring knowledge of native UX patterns and interactions, and be a strong collaborator as they'll be working with teams across the Etsy Product Org.

This Product Designer will craft native-first solutions to buyer problems. In practice, this means iterating on and delivering design solutions that address our buyer needs as they align to goals set by your team. We’re looking for someone who has experience applying research and data findings to drive their design decisions.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Product Design Manager. For this role, we are considering candidates based in Mexico who are either remote, flex, or office-based. What does the day-to-day look like?

• Aligning with collaborators on your prioritized roadmap

• Working closely with web designers to translate their work into the native UX

• Testing prototypes with users to collect feedback

• Sharing your work with peers and leadership, async and in-person

• Taking part in weekly design critiques, workshops, all hands and squad meetings

• Thinking and writing about your design process and decisions

Mid level at Etsy means:

• Working alongside your design partners in driving discovery and concepting workshops and align the group around a vision and approach

• A track record of crafting UX flows and customer journeys

• Designing at a system level, not just interface elements or pages

• Strong soft skills: listening, making trade-offs, decision-making

• Balancing multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment

Qualities we look for in this role are:

• 4+ years of professional experience working in product design (although you might have had a different job title, like “UX Designer” or “Experience Designer”)

• Highly developed design skills, shown in your portfolio of recent work

• As a bonus, experience showcasing successful delivery of mobile interface design solutions across native platforms

• Business level ability in English
