*Certain positions at Divvy are eligible for remote work - within the United States*

About The Position

Divvy already handles hundreds of millions of dollars in business spending and have recently merged with Bill.com and Invoice2go. We are combining forces to create the “one stop shop” offinancial operations for small and medium size businesses. At Bill.com/Divvy you’ll be a clear owner of a generational software product. And you’ll have an unprecedented opportunity to shape the future of our business while making a real impact on the UX across our products. We’re building a world-class design team and we ask a lot of our designers. In return, we invest a significant amount of energy into education and culture-building.

We’re looking for a Design System Designer with a strong blend of visual and interaction design skills to lead and support the ongoing design of our B2B payment products. In this role, you will play a critical part in evolving our component library into a cohesive and powerful design system and delivering a better experience to our users.

As a part of our multi-disciplinary team of UX designers and researchers, you will take full ownership of all design-system operations in the area you own. You’ll also be keen on working in the system thinking design process that creates the consistency to simplify complex product solutions. You think design at scale and you love to find ways to create efficiency through the design tool, such as Figma, to the UI Toolkits that our internal customers use on daily bases.

Our team is open to non-traditional backgrounds and equivalent experiences to the qualifications below.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Raise the bar for the overall visual and interaction design of Bill.com products
  • Design and maintain a library of high-quality components and user interface patterns in a systematic, detail-oriented way.
  • Ensure the coded implementations are always consistent with designs.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify the design system inventory through merging similar elements.
  • Set up and maintain clear, concise documentation around the design system components, patterns, principles and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with UX, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to ensure a cohesive design language across the entire customer experience.
  • Be the voice of the design system throughout the company, representing the Design System team in product discussions, and educating others.
  • Ensure our design system meets baseline accessibility requirements and is built with WCAG 2.1 in mind.
  • Train designers, engineers, and other stakeholders on how to use the Design System.
  • Document the interaction and micro-interaction within design systems.
  • Contribute interaction design to design systems.
  • Help define specifications for components, pattern usages, and behaviors for reproducing in the design system. Push the project forward alongside other developers, designers, and product managers in an agile environment.
  • Build experimental/demo culture with collaborations across disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in the product design field. Experience working within a product company would be a plus.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating samples of best practice Design System deliverables (style foundations, components, interaction design, iconography, and prototypes). You possess the ability to easily understand the ramifications of design decisions on a global level.
  • You’re a system thinker with an understanding of atomic design.
  • You have deep knowledge of modern, emerging web UI patterns and design tools, usage, and best practices.
  • You have obtained broad design experience working across different screens and devices.
  • You have the ability to think strategically and translate requirements and user feedback into holistic design solutions.
  • You are adaptive to common design software (Sketch, Figma,, Keynote) for the creation of interaction design artifacts and presentations at the concept stage.
  • You have great time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • You are a team player who can work with cross-functional team members and facilitate collaboration.
  • You have the ability to make design decisions and recommendations based on professional experience, user insights, and analytics.
  • Solid hands-on experience as Design System Designer building out design systems (complete with variants) in Figma.
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining design system documentation and governance process.
  • Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and experience building out accessible components based on these guidelines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

Expected Outcomes

  • Craft, implement, and evolve a design system for digital products with delightful experiences.
  • With your strong verbal and written communication skills, share your solutions with your team and larger audiences and apply feedback as you iterate.
  • Define, build, test, and iterate on stellar interactive experiences in our component lib that delight our customers at scale.
  • Build product designs that are accessible and ADA compliant.
  • Operate successfully in partnering with design, product, engineering, marketing, and customer service colleagues to nurture an extremely collaborative and iterative working relationship.
