Product Designer-Design System

About the team:

InVision’s Central Design Team (CDT) is in search of a Product Designer-Design System with a passion for design systems to support the evolution of our shared design language and foster cross-discipline relationships across creative and technical teams to enable a seamless, end-to-end customer experience.

The Central Design Team is the thread that connects our brand and product design teams, engineering and product teams. We help fellow InVisioners move with speed and agility, to deliver seamless user experiences through a shared design language and team partnerships. 

What you’ll do:

• Support the evolution of InVision’s shared design language and the delivery of essential libraries and frameworks through the Helios Design System, supporting designers and engineers in creating new user experiences
• Design, discuss, and document emerging design patterns. Look horizontally across product areas and find opportunities to drive alignment and understanding.
• Support systems thinking across the broader design team and drive alignment with the design language.
• Oversee the user experience of products from discovery through launch as well as additional ongoing iterations
• Foster collaboration among brand and product designers, engineering, and product teams to realize an end-to-end customer experience that is cohesive, familiar, and inclusive
• Work to establish and socialize a robust foundation of design principles around inclusivity, usability, and aesthetic
• Give and solicit feedback from other designers in order to continually raise our bar for quality
• Work closely with designers, product managers, engineering, and leadership in a highly collaborative environment to facilitate, lead, challenge, and build consensus on solutions
• Learn from a diverse international team and provide mentorship to other designers to fuel professional growth

What you’ll bring:

• 3+ years of relevant experience in design of digital products that have been released to market, with a proven track record of success
• Significant experience and passion for constructing design languages and systems. Extensive knowledge of constructing accessible user interfaces and delivering componentized UI frameworks
• Proven experience delivering end-to-end (from brief to shipping) digital products within a cross-functional team environment with an iterative approach that leverages quantitative and qualitative measurement
• Demonstrated ability to think at a high level about product strategy but also act–with speed and precision–to identify and deliver the tactical pieces that realize it
• Thorough knowledge and experience across a range of design approaches and methodologies
• Proactive initiative that identifies problems and acts on opportunities to improve the product offering
• Excellent written & verbal communication and presentation skills
• Strong collaboration skills across disciplines that drive change
• Ability to manage and contribute to multiple projects concurrently
