Product Designer, Dashboard job at Stripe

That’s where you come in: we’re looking for a diverse set of designers of different disciplines, skills, backgrounds, and specialties to join our Dashboard Design team.

The Stripe Dashboard makes the simple things easy and the complex things possible for millions of buisiness around the globe. We deliver products and experiences for all Stripe users including Startups, SMBs, Enterprises, and major platforms. Since our user base is so broad, it is essential that the experiences we build are configurable, customizable, and extensible. We take pride in crafting user-friendly and user-focused experiences.

You will:

Conceptualize, execute, and iterate on the Stripe Dashboard - aka: the ‘Command Center for Global Commerce’
Work across our core Dashboard product areas in close collaborations with engineers product managers to define both the long-term strategy and the short-term tactics for that product
Work with engineers and product managers to define both the long-term strategy and the short-term tactics for the Stripe Dashboard
Partner closely with our user research team to both identify new opportunity areas, and to validate potential solutions to pain-points. You will also partner with content strategists to craft compelling experiences that deliver the right information at the right time to the right user.
Deliver from your strengths — whether that’s workshops, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, final comps and specs, or code—and have the opportunity to sharpen the skills you’re looking to develop
Work closely with other designers on your team to develop and expand product design systems
Participate in design reviews and share your work regularly with the design and company leadership

We're looking for someone with:

Can reduce complex problems down to the right balance of flexibility, power, and ease of use
Have experience designing business tools, operational tools, and/or dashboard-based products
Are skilled in explaining your work, process, and decisions to cross-functional stakeholders and crave feedback to help you produce your best work
Are uncompromisingly service-minded towards our users and your colleagues, but able to set and achieve priorities that find the perfect balance between benefiting the project, the Design team, and all of Stripe
Think in systems and are able to extrapolate and extend shared patterns and behaviors
You inject a high level of craft into all stages of your work, regardless of the fidelity of the design, and keep pushing your work until all details are attended to
Love working with other designers to help them learn and grow—and have them help you learn and grow
Have 4+ years relevant design experience at a tech, product-driven company

You might work on:

Personalization strategies, dynamic components, content engines, and tooling
Customization at the IA, page, and component level, including user affordances and smart defaults that meet real user needs
Composability of our modular kit-of-parts to deliver tailored product offerings for distinct user segments
Extensibility of the functionality of the Stripe Dashboard through embedded first and third party apps
The optimization and expansion of core Dashboard surfaces like the Nav, Search, or multi-account org management
Mobile experiences across web, iOS, and Android
