Jasper’s design team is focused on building world-class solutions to help people living with cancer navigate their end-to-end care experience. Our human-centered approach is guided by empathy and data, and we’re passionate about working iteratively to create meaningful and valuable products for the 100M+ cancer patients who need them most. 

As a Product Designer, you’ll be a key member to a small but effective design team contributing to a range of design initiatives spanning user research, branding refinement, and new feature iteration and development. You will help manage the strategic design of our products as well as encourage high-quality execution from the design team—in vision, research, pixels, and language.

Role and Responsibilities

• Define and lead user research efforts to uncover the needs of patients, ensuring usability and accessibility with particular focus on rapid feedback cycles for newly launched features 
• Help drive the end-to-end design process in close collaboration with our Senior Product Designers, from conceptually broad explorations to pixel-perfect execution, working iteratively and often within well-defined sprints
• Produce solutions that positively impact the experience of cancer patients, while balancing our clinical and business needs
• Leading the application and refinement of brand design across product and Jasper’s marketing team 
• Partner with cross-functional teams and other managers for alignment on strategy, vision, metrics, and other goals for initiatives
• Maintain overall team performance, with the flexibility and willingness to jump in and help your teammates as needed, while building a culture of design excellence and commitment to user-centric design
• Advocate for and champion research and design-led product development within the company
• Guide and promote collaboration through the use of design artifacts; sketches, flows, mock-ups, high-fidelity prototypes, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• A strong visual sense, attention to detail, and love for the craft of design
• Passionate about solving problems for patients and driving user research processes including surveys, interviews, and moderated and/or unmoderated testing 
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to align stakeholders across teams and document design decisions
• Experience building and maintaining design systems
• Able to help designer and product team successfully navigate the multifaceted needs of our internal teams and partners
• Proficiency with design, collaboration, a nd prototyping tools, such as Figma and Github
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Material Design/MUI and Flutter are a huge plus

Preferred Experience

• 5+ years of industry experience as a Product Design or equivalent role(s)
• Proven track record of designing impactful,  end-to-end experiences with an emphasis on high-quality craft
• Experience collaborating closely with other disciplines including product and engineering
• Experience working in the healthcare industry, a startup environment, and/or on a consumer product are a huge plus

Compensation

The cash compensation band for this role is $10,000 to $11,000 per month for a 3 month contract
