Product Designer, Content Experience

We are looking for a Product Designer to join our Content Experience team, focused on building content creation and collaboration experiences within Asana. This team is working on some of the most core functionality to the Asana product. As such, we are looking for someone with experience designing and shipping products at an extremely high bar for visual and interaction design. The team you’ll be joining is small, collaborative, and focused. As a member of this team you will work in a fast-paced environment and jump immediately into delivering impactful experiences to our customers. You will also experience growth and mentorship from working alongside experienced designers on adjacent teams.

Our Design team takes pride in the craft of building products. We come up with ideas, test them on our users (and ourselves), create polished design artifacts, and take a lead role alongside our engineers to make sure our designs are well-implemented and bulletproof. We produce designs that are not just pixel-perfect, but core to the power of our applications. Asana’s Product Design team is a tight-knit, collaborative group of designers from many different backgrounds. What you’ll achieve

• Work with a cross-functional team to design and build a best-in-class content collaboration experience within Asana
• Leverage design thinking and your skills in visual and interaction design to up-level the quality of our experience. 
• Conduct user interviews in partnership with our user research team in order to identify opportunities to improve the design.
• Host brainstorms with peers to explore innovative solutions
• Design and prototype multiple ideas quickly, and connect regularly with customers to validate product directions
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver polished interactions for our customers
• Help the team work effectively while raising the quality bar for our user experience
• Participate in design critique and present work regularly in product leadership feedback meetings

About you

• Experience designing digital apps and systems; you have helped ship products before, ideally in the SaaS/B2B space
• Clearly communicate design work with solid rationale that builds on customer insights.
• Possess a strong understanding of the product development process, from problem definition through to detailed UI and visual design
• A driven self starter who is excited about collaborating and building relationships with other teams in the company, like Engineering, Marketing, UXR, and Product Management
• Creative problem-solver who can iterate with low-fidelity sketches of workflows and translate those into beautiful high-fidelity designs using tools like Figma or Sketch.
• Able to understand and follow a design system, and contribute improvements to it when necessary
• Strong aptitude for building prototypes at various fidelity using tools like Framer, Flinto, Keynote, InVision, or HTML/CSS/JS
• Experience designing for native desktop applications (MacOS and Windows) is a plus.
