Looking for a design role flush with variety, impact, and big ideas? Our design team is growing! We are hiring for a Product Designer to lead design efforts and tackle complex problems alongside a wildly creative, smart, and dedicated group of UX folks — designers, researchers, strategists, technologists. In this role, your design expertise will shine throughout the process from information architecture and interaction concepts to detailed wireframes.  
If you are a designer at heart and love the opportunity to listen directly to users, ground ideas in research, and tell a story around your work, this role is for you. You’ll also need a desire for the fast pace and collaborative nature of client-facing agency work. This role requires experience in all phases of product design, from discovery and workflow definition to handoff of detailed specifications to development teams. We’re eager to meet with folks with consulting experience as well as experience working on product lifecycle from kickoff to shipping.

A note about location: Blink has offices in California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Texas, and Washington. We are a remote-friendly work environment however and are able to hire full-time employees outside of these states as well. 

What you will be doing:

  • Work collaboratively on a project team to support the overall design effort.
  • Create workflow and experience map diagrams from research data.
  • Create wireframe prototypes for usability testing.
  • Create detailed wireframe specifications.
  • Present work to clients.
  • Anchor designs in strategy and can articulate this strategy with the team
  • Apply the latest design and technology trends to your designs
  • Apply interaction design principles to your work
  • Generate multiple design solutions on your own
  • Evaluate, select and refine design solutions prior to reviews
  • Write clear, concise copy in user interfaces
  • Incorporate user research and testing into your work
  • Prototype at one or two levels of fidelity
  • Articulate your design thinking within project teams and the design org
  • Share work early and often
  • Manage your own schedule effectively

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience as an interaction or UX designer preferred.
  • Proficiency in current design and prototyping tools and ability to learn new ones as projects require.
  • Ability to perform some research tasks including writing session guides, stakeholder and user interviews, usability moderation.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • A knack for creative problem solving and innovative solutions.
  • Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to client locations out-of-state.
