Product Designer (all genders)

We are looking for a Product Designer to start immediately as part of our Growth Department in Berlin. The Growth Department is made up of cross-functional teams across Product, Data, Design and Engineering, where you can make data-driven decisions and help teams uncover levers for acquisition and revenue growth.

You will:

• Work in one of our Experience Areas (comprising of multiple empowered product development teams) on identifying and addressing customer needs across their language learning journey
• Deliver high quality visual and interaction design solutions for existing and new Babbel products and features
• Create sketches, storyboards, mockups, and prototypes to effectively test and communicate ideas quickly
• Collaborating with the research and content teams to uncover learners’ perspectives and our competition to generate solutions
• Advocate for best practices and make sure we’re shipping high-quality experiences to our learners
• Make use of our design system effectively and contribute to it as and when necessary
• Cooperate within the Product Design team and proactively seek collaboration with other departments
• Influence the discovery and delivery phases of the product development process by making sure that learner needs are at the heart of how we build products at Babbel

• Invested in all stages of app design, from sketching concepts to polishing interfaces and contributing to the Design System

You have:

• An outstanding portfolio demonstrating a user-centered design approach, problem-solving skills, and superior attention to detail  
• An understanding of a product design process 
• Knowledge of using industry-leading design and prototyping software
• Good prioritization and time-management skills and experience working in a scrum set-up
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Experience building design systems for either product or marketing teams

Nice-to-have:

• Experience working with web or mobile-based technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Android Studio, XCode, etc.
• Experience working on growth topics like product acquisition and revenue growth
• Experience with continuous discovery and hypothesis based product development
• Experience supporting empowered product development teams, where the embedded Product Designer is key driver and, alongside a Product Manager and an Engineering Manager, form that team’s “Product Trio”
• Experience in designing and shipping for Android, iOS, and web
• Experience producing visual and/or interaction guidelines and contributing to design systems
