We are looking for a Product Designer to join our Engagement cluster! 

As a Product Designer in Babbel, you’ll be a tenacious user advocate, and design an effective and delightful experience for our learners that guides them on a transformational language-learning journey.

You will:

• Work in one of the teams within the Engagement Cluster on identifying and addressing learner needs across their language learning journey
• Be embedded in a cross-functional team, working together with product managers, engineers, data analysts, etc., to refine the user experience for our learners
• Collaborate with your sparring partners, PM and EM, in identifying the most impactful opportunities for the team to pursue and experiment on
• Deliver high quality visual and interaction design solutions for existing and new Babbel products and features
• Adopt an experiment based product development to de-risk your solutions, incrementally gaining confidence
• Adopt a continuous discovery mindset by being in touch with our learners to fully understand the context of our opportunities
• Make use of our design system effectively and contribute to it as and when necessary
• Cooperate within the Product Design team and proactively seek collaboration with other departments

You are:

• A talented designer who has shipped excellent user-centered products  
• Able to tackle complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use designs for millions of people around the world
• Invested in all stages of design, from sketching concepts to polishing interfaces and contributing to the Design System
• A fantastic team player with a people-focused mentality
• A great communicator who can express their thoughts well in English

You have:

• The ability to understand the user, challenge assumptions and redefine problems
• The understanding of user research methodologies and how/when to leverage it with experience utilising insights to identify opportunities
• The ability to put projects and tasks into the larger narrative of the learner's life and the business strategy, and effectively communicate the work to stakeholders

Nice to have:

• Experience working with web or mobile-based technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Android Studio, XCode, etc.
• Experience working on product activation and engagement
