The Design Technologist role is a key contributor on a 0-1 design team building the future of deep audio experiences – acting as a prototyper and accelerant to turn nascent ideas into tangible, testable artifacts.

What You'll Do

  • You will use your front-end programming, design, and UX skills to advance the boundaries of how people use our service now and in the future
  • You will embed with product designers, product managers, and researchers to explore new ideas large and small through rapid prototyping at breadth and depth – from strategic vision to concepts to building functional experiences
  • You will build prototypes and run experiments
  • You will offer design expertise to help fine-tune the appearance and UX of a productYou will develop and iterate rapid models of proposed design solutions for the purposes of communication, evaluation, and testing
  • You will think beyond incremental features and help design new ways of thinking for the future of deep audio experiences
  • You will be a culture carrier, mentoring other designers in developing their skills

Who You Are

  • You are a designer with front-end development skills or a front-end developer with design chops with relevant experience as a front-end technologist, engineer, or UX prototyper
  • You have experience prototyping products to see if they’re viable – you learn by trying (bonus: you have experience with 0-1 product development) 
  • You can jump in at any design phase: wireframes, click-throughs, mocks, and prototypes at all levels of fidelity
  • You thrive collaborating with other designers and partnering with product managers, engineers, and researchers
  • You bring a playfulness to your work and to the people you work withYou have impeccable craft
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • You have an understanding and fluent usage across a broad spectrum of technologies including (but not limited to): JavaScript / NodeJS, HTML / CSS, XML / JSON, and Responsive / Adaptive Design
  • You have an available online portfolio
  • You can provide coding samples in front-end programming languages

  • Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the America region in which we have a work location and is within working hours.
  • Working hours? We operate within the Eastern Standard Time and EST time zones for collaboration and ask that all be located in that time zone.
