Role Description
The mobile team is a steward of the customer experience and foundational quality of all Dropbox mobile apps. We own the experiences of the main Dropbox mobile app in addition to collaborating with partner teams around the company as they design for mobile.
This role will be focused on making the Dropbox mobile apps seamless, easy and universally satisfying experience for all users by simplifying the app and elevating its overall quality. We’re invested in building a simpler and more modern experience to help users effortlessly complete their workflows through Dropbox and you’ll be key to making that possible. You’ll work with a Product Management partner along with a team of engineers to ideate, design solutions, test with users, build, and measure success.
This role will come with direct mentorship from 1-2 other designers on the Mobile design team to support your growth across all of the skills necessary to be an excellent product designer.
Responsibilities
- Contributing to discovery and planning with your PM partner on well-scoped problem areas with guidance from your manager.
- Participating in sprints or related exercises to work quickly through synthesizing insights and solution iterations with regular contact with customers throughout.
- Executing detailed and thorough designs with regular feedback, direction, and support from your manager and mentor.
- Socializing and collaborating with your immediate team in addition to rest of the Mobile design team.
Requirements
- 1+ years of UX-related (or comparable) work experience and/or a degree in a relevant design field.
- Prior experience designing for Mobile surfaces across iOS/Android, Including knowledge of Apple HIG and Google Material Design, is preferred.
- Basic prototyping skills.
- An ownership mindset, ready to proactively take on challenges, be excited to grow, and engaged in team activities.
- Steadfast empathy for our users, their lives, and what they hope to gain from using Dropbox.
- Clear communication style
- Comfortable with travel, potentially quarterly post-COVID.
