Role Description
We are looking for a Product Designer Manager to lead our design team focused on multiplayer customer problems. We’re looking for someone to drive the design contribution to our multiplayer products and manage and develop a powerful team of powerful designers.
As a Product Designer Manager and Area Lead you’ll work with cross-functional partners to create the strategy, vision, and plan of action for the best experiences for Dropbox customers. This role covers multiplayer experiences like sharing, collaborating on content, managing membership and bringing real work-life relationships into Dropbox.
As a design leader you’ll be a champion for innovative and impactful approaches to solve the most important problems for our customers. You’ll be a steward of operational excellence, holding your teams accountable to ambitious goals and developing processes to achieve efficient but impactful outcomes along with a well-loved culture. You’ll lead a team of 3 product designers not only by means of their product work, you’ll also be a coach and mentor in their career development and a culture and community builder. You’ll be a driver in maintaining a high craft bar within our products to ensure continued improvement in product quality.
As a virtual first company, you can work from home and leverage our studios for in-person work. You’ll be able to design your own non-linear working day outside of core collaboration hours, as well as be empowered to experiment with new virtual first processes.

Requirements
- 2+ year experience leading a team of designers as a manager
- Works on projects from discovery through shipping/iteration
- Guides teams through a range of small experiments to big swings
- Leverages coaching and mentorship to level up your team
- Merges a customer-focused mindset with critical business needs
- Builds strong cross functional partnerships
- Has a clear, compelling presentation and communication style
