Product Design Manager

What we’re looking for 🔎

We’re looking for a Product Design Leader to empower and support our small, but mighty team of Product Designers. You’ll collaborate with the broader Product Management and Engineering teams to ensure that we are making informed and customer-driven design decisions that result in delivering valuable, consistent, and delightful experiences across the user journey. You will be a strong advocate of human-centered design principles, design thinking frameworks, and design craft. We’ll lean on your expertise to continuing building and maturing Splash's Product Design practice and ensure that it is fully integrated and operating effectively.

In this role, you’ll get to…

• Empower and support our small, but mighty team of Product Designers. You’ll lead with empathy, candor, respect, and establish trust and psychological safety within the Design team while inspiring teammates through hands-on mentorship.
• Advocate for Product Design cross-functionally to ensure that its critical role is understood across the organization.
• Represent product design in critical collaborative exercises where we set priorities and OKRs as a balanced team.
• Represent product design in executing and iterating upon our cross-functional roadmap process.
• Provide direction and guidance of product designers' output, promote partnerships and design process. You'll influence product strategy and ensure product design practices are integrated and fully represented in our discovery and delivery process.
• Partner in elevating design team collaboration process including our weekly work-in-progress meetings, ideation sessions, and design critiques.
• Continue to expand, refine, and scale the Splash design system. Use systems thinking and craft to elevate our product's design and quality bar.
• Help us build a mature Product Design practice and culture by continuously improving the Design organization to uphold Splash’s values.
• Lean on your leadership experience to evolve our recruiting strategy and process

On your first day, we’ll expect you to have…

• 2-3+ years of experience leading UX/Product Design teams at B2B, SaaS environments.
• Been a proven design leader at design-focused companies, with the ability to communicate design strategy across the organization.
• A love for leading and mentoring Product Designers. This include recruiting, training and developing, organization design, and leading by example.
• A thorough understanding of modern design methods, processes, and tools. You keep up with the industry trends and can assess new tools and techniques.
• A history of collaborating closely with Engineers and Product Managers.
• Demonstrated experience in leading a team to effectively break down complex and ambiguous problems and deliver commercially successful consumer-facing products.
• Be a systems thinker who can analyze interconnected problems and create cohesive solutions from a broad perspective.
• A high degree of empathy and curiosity about human behavior, backed by user research and insight.
• You have the ability to think about product strategy and vision at a high level.
