Product Design Manager, Reviews

About the role

Lattice is looking for a Product Design Manager to lead and support our Reviews design team. At the highest level, this team is focused on evolving the performance review and evaluation experience from a dreadful endeavor that takes an inordinate amount of time and lacks the vital context key to making them relevant/helpful/actionable → to unbiased reflections that are supercharged by the platform and seamlessly transition into clear development plans that set people up for success.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the design strategy and empowering your team to ship world-class experiences that bring us closer to this north star. The end outcome? Reimagine the experience of enterprise software and build highly leveraged products that enable thousands of companies, including ours, to engage, retain and develop high performance with their employees.

• As a manager, you will be responsible for helping to scale the Product Design team, its culture, and its operations through this exciting growth phase. You’ll also be expected to support, coach, and help grow the team’s members into the next generation of design leadership at Lattice.
• As a member of our design leadership team, you will be responsible for partnering with Research, Engineering, and Customer Experience to establish a multi-year vision and strategy for your product area that result in end-user experiences that redefine performance management. You’ll also be expected to set new levels of excellence for craft and execution, and chart a course for your team to get there.
• This role is excellent for leaders who excel at strategy/storytelling, systems-thinking, and driving high-quality experiences. This role will report to the Director or Product Design of our performance pillar.

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in Product Design, including 2+ years experience managing Designers.

• Ability to shape and evolve an inclusive recruiting practice that attracts world-class designers of diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to foster cohesion and cultivate a healthy design environment in a co-located, distributed, or remote world.
• Ability to identify opportunities for improving team operations/efficiency backed by timely and empathetic change management.
• Ability to develop teams of designers to become the next generation of key contributors - investing in coaching, mentorship, and empowerment.
• Knowledge of associated practices, including, User Research, UX Writing, Brand Design, and accessibility standards.

You have experience establishing a vision and strategy that help to shape the future of the business.

• Ability to communicate design's potential impact on business outcomes.
• Ability to partner with Research to identify UX opportunities, then work cross-functionally to influence strategy at the product level.
• Ability to define and communicate clear expectations for excellence, then chart a course at the product and platform level.
• Preferably, you have professional experience with multi-product, B2B SaaS applications

You’re a great communicator, collaborator, and facilitator.

• You're a compelling and confident storyteller.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a talent for succinctly articulating customer challenges and enumerating tradeoffs.
• You effectively organize and lead discussions/rituals that build relationships, facilitate better collaboration, and ultimately improve the product and team culture.
