What you’ll do
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of 7 product designers, 1 UX researcher, and 1 DesignOps
- Partner with management, engineers, and product managers to align on design initiatives, define a rolling roadmap and long-term direction
- Work with designers across teams to define problems, support research, prototyping, and delivery over 6-week cycles (made of 3 x 2-week sprints)
- Help foster our design culture with knowledge-sharing, peer support, leading weekly Design Review, and during informal hang-outs (we meet weekly for a “Designer Aligner”)
- Run the function’s performance reviews and salary reviews
Preferred requirements
- Experience managing a remote team in a scale-up environment with millions of users
- Driven to help companies elevate design maturity
- A great storyteller comfortable explaining rationale and getting buy-in from stakeholders on product vision
- Designed public-facing apps that have gotten love letters from users
- A strong understanding and experience in product design from exploration to launch and beyond
