Job Description

We are looking for a Product Design lead for TIDAL. At Block, we believe design is the driving force behind economic empowerment. Intuitive products are crucial to the success of artists and to drive meaningful engagement with music fans. Overseeing product design across our artists and streaming platforms, you will be responsible for managing and growing a team of talented product designers, while providing near-term design leadership on challenging and mission-critical projects. You and your team will shape TIDAL’s product design philosophy, vision, operations and solutions. This role calls for an exceptional people manager who can build, develop and grow a global team, elevating the role of design in everything we do internally and for our customers. You will report to the Head of Product and partner with your peers in Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing leadership to foster an environment for creativity and innovation.

You Will:

  • Lead a growing, global team of product designers, UX researchers and copywriters responsible for every touchpoint of artists’ and fans’ experience with TIDAL products
  • Incorporate data and customer insights in order to create powerful concepts, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs
  • Create and implement a unified design system that increases the velocity of our product and engineering teams, and extends to brand and marketing output
  • Scope and deliver multiple design projects simultaneously
  • Create an environment where individuals are inspired to do incredible work and take principled risks, building trust with them and across the organization
  • Implement and lead processes that solve difficult problems and influence across a collection of products and teams

Qualifications

You Have:

  • At least 12 years of professional product design experience, ~5 in management roles
  • Innate understanding of the end-to-end product design process – from identifying customer needs, jobs-to-be-done, and pain points to delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Passion for translating complex problems into simple, relatable, and engaging solutions
  • A diverse portfolio of work that illustrates your ability to have impact and lead at the project level, product level, organization level, and company level
  • A proven ability to collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, and Engineering leaders to influence the product roadmap and the organizational structure
  • Experience establishing organization-level goals and translating them to teams across multiple products to create remarkable experiences
