About our team

The Product Design Team is a central, collaborative, and driven group of Product Designers, Researchers, and UX Writers working closely with cross-disciplinary partners that span our entire organization. Our work impacts millions, as we nearly doubled our team across the US, Canada, and Scotland/UK just last year. 

The opportunity

As a Product Design Intern on our team this summer, you’ll utilize your full range of skills from product, interaction, and visual design to build usable and delightful experiences for our platform. You’ll work closely with a cross-disciplinary team to understand user problems and craft product design solutions end-to end.

This is a remote-based role for interns located in western United States or Canada.

Duties/Responsibilities:

What you’ll do

  • Work with your project team, researchers, and data scientists to identify user problems
  • Develop and propose product design solutions using diagrams, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and our design system.
  • Share your work with other designers and cross-disciplinary partners
  • Participate in design reviews and iterate to improve upon your solutions
  • Collaborate and learn with engineering and product partners
  • Participate in design team activities

Required Skills/Abilities:

What we’re looking for

  • Eager to learn, collaborate, and work with feedback from the design team and cross-disciplinary partners
  • An active listener that can clearly articulate design decisions or ideas
  • Advocates and is a voice for users and their needs
  • Familiar with UX and interaction design principles, patterns, and fundamentals
  • Understanding of web and mobile platform capabilities
  • Familiar with design and collaboration tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, FigJam, Mural
  • Passion for design and bringing real human insights into their workflow
  • Link to an online portfolio or PDF of at least one project that demonstrates your approach to problem solving, design process, and UI skills

Education and Experience:

  • Enrollment in a undergraduate, graduate design-related program, or self-taught
