Product Design Intern - Summer 2022

Squarespace is a design-centric product company at heart which enables anyone to build a beautiful online presence. Product designers at Squarespace are embedded within product teams amongst product managers, engineers and researchers. Our product teams are deeply collaborative, and each member is directly responsible for the team’s success.

We are seeking promising designers for our summer intern program to work alongside full-time product designers on our Commerce and Growth teams. The Growth team is responsible for attracting new customers to the Squarespace platform. We work closely with creative marketers to translate high impact brand moments into thoughtful digital experiences that are optimized for conversion. The Commerce team is focused on helping entrepreneurs start and grow their online businesses on Squarespace. Together with the product team, you will explore exciting new opportunities for Squarespace users to expand their reach and share their products to vast, new audiences. These roles will report to Senior Product Designers in our NYC headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on project briefs and scoping
• Create rational, elegant solutions to complex problems
• Create wireframes and early-stage prototypes
• Seek to understand the capabilities and technical constraints of the systems with which you'll work
• Present ideas and work to the product team and larger group
• Provide comps, flows and assets to team members
• Participate in user research and testing, ensuring usability and product consistency
• Collaborate with our Design Systems team to ensure your work integrates into our ecosystem

Qualifications

• Recent graduate (2022) or enrolled student (Spring 2023 anticipated graduation) in a design program
• Previous internship and/or work experience
• An understanding of visual and user experience design
• Experience using Figma
• An understanding of web and mobile applications

A portfolio of relevant design work is required for consideration. It should illustrate your involvement and how you contributed to solving specific problems.
