You’ll use your full range of skills from product design, interaction design, and visual design to build magical experiences. As a Product Design Intern, you’ll work with a cross functional team through the product development process to test out your ideas at all levels, and learn what details matter at each stage of a sprint cycle.

What you'll do

  • You'll be at the forefront of our efforts and be directly responsible for decisions that form the product
  • You’ll use your full range of skills from product design, interaction design, and visual design to build meaningful experiences
  • As a Product Design Intern, you’ll work with a cross functional team to apply design through the product development process to test out your ideas at all levels, and learn what details matter at each stage of a sprint cycle.
  • Embed directly in one of our product teams, working on a project in close collaboration with other designers, writers, researchers, product managers, and engineers
  • Employ a systematic process for finding and resolving hidden complexities and edge cases
  • Produce work that encompasses the distinctive look and feel of Evernote’s products
  • Think through user problems, find reasonable solutions, mock them up in detail, and work with engineers to build them
  • Participate in team/company initiatives, design critiques, and collaboration sessions

What you've done

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Product Design, Computer Graphics Technology, Graphic Design Technology, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Computer Science, Information Science/Information Systems, Information Architecture, Data Analytics, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, and more (if you’re a creative problem solver and wanting to explore a career in UX, and don’t see your major listed here, please still apply!)
  • Ability to design across platforms (mobile, web, desktop, etc)
  • Familiarity with design tools, preferably Figma, Sketch, XD or Illustrator
  • Bonus points for motion, iconography, UX system flows, modern UI visuals, prototyping skills, front end web development
  • You might currently be studying, or enrolled in coursework in one or more of the following areas: user experience, graphic/visual design, motion design, game design animation, photography, behavioral science, interface design, multimedia design and technology, entrepreneurship courses, product design, industrial design, human factors, design thinking, information design, civil engineering, service design, or other relevant coursework
  • When you submit your CV/resume, we would love to see a few examples of design-related work you’re most proud of that highlights your ability to work with teams, think outside of the box, think strategically, and communicate through a visual medium. These examples can be pulled from school projects, passion projects, or from any other previous work experience. You might share a link to an existing website, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok or other social media site, or even an art portfolio.

Who you are

  • You have a passion for design and a burning interest in entering the UX Design field; extensive design experience is not required as a pre-requisite, and we encourage non-traditional backgrounds (e.g., you might be studying fine art, architecture, psychology, brand and marketing, engineering, or other courses of study.)
  • Have deep empathy and a passion for understanding people, uncovering their values and unspoken needs, and crafting solutions with these values and needs at the heart of it all
  • Excited to bring your unique voice and perspective to Evernote's Design team
  • Collaborative and a true partner to your colleagues to get work done
  • Great at asking questions, defining problems, trying different solutions, and learning from the results
  • Able to stay aligned with your goals and stay productive
  • You work comfortably with people in different time zones
  • You have self-driven determination to complete tasks
  • Demonstrate design systems thinking and ability make rational design decisions
  • Polishing and refining your work is important to you, you obsess over details to ensure everything is pixel-perfect
  • Willing and able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday
