Product Design, Director (Individual Contributor)

This position is based in New York City, and in some cases remote can be considered for the following states: CA, MA, MI, OR, NJ, TX, SC, VT, WA.

In this role, you'll lead a large product area, providing clarity in all aspects of your domain, possessing deep, industry-leading experience, and being regarded as exceptional by peers both internally and externally. You'll drive high-impact initiatives, and coach other designers in a product group in collaboration with Engineering and Product Management partners. You'll be influential in strengthening team culture, mentoring others, and making a broader impact on the design and product industry. The ideal candidate has experience in complex B2B products, deep design expertise, excels across multiple dimensions of design, and is sought after by senior leadership for critical decisions.

This role is as an individual contributor who enjoys being a builder. 

• Raising the quality bar for design across various products and initiatives.

• Coaching and mentoring other designers and actively contributing to their growth.

• Identifying, driving, and delivering hands-on design work for high-impact and valuable initiatives for the company.

• Design thought leadership for a product area in collaboration with Engineering and Product Management partners.

• Identifying problems and opportunities that others may not see.

• Making an impact beyond the company and influencing the broader design and product industry.

• 15+ years of professional experience as a Product Designer, working in scaling or scaled tech companies.
• Experience in building complex B2B products at a successful product company.
• Expert-level, industry-leading experience in product thinking, interaction design, execution and craft.
• Experience leading initiatives and building teams around a particular area and ability to champion them.
• Experience as a senior leader in an organization driving decisions.
• Experience recruiting top-tier talent for an organization.
