Principal Product Designer

Cyber security is taking centre stage for many companies, and the demand for Snyk’s product is sky-rocketing.  Snyk has been adopted by over 2.2M developers who use Snyk to find and fix vulnerabilities in their open source libraries and container images, empowering them to develop secure software faster.

We’re looking for a Principal or Staff Product Designer to join our enterprise platform team, working on a range of features as well as leading the design strategy for the future of our app. You will be working closely with product and engineering colleagues to help drive the future of our product. 

You’ll spend your time

• Conducting generative & evaluative research to identify pain points and user needs 
• Working day to day in R&D teams, and also collaborating with other designers 
• Influencing product decisions through user research
• Running workshops, both with Snyk stakeholders and users
• Creating service or journey maps, design concepts to create insight and data led design solutions
• Collaborating with other designers to craft hi-fidelity design artefacts
• Leading complex projects, including dashboards, reporting and the IA of the end to end Snyk experience
• Sharing your skills, coaching other designers, helping to build our world class design team
• Making it easy for the 27 million developers in the world to build and ship secure code

You should apply if you:

• Have 10+ years of experience in a software design capacity
• Have a very strong background in UX design, and experience in applying a wide range of techniques to define and solve complex design problems
• Have a solid user-centred design methodology and practice 
• Strong critical thinking skills to understand user needs vs user wants
• Have lead the experience design in programs that cut across many R&D teams
• Experience in designing complex enterprise applications
• Thrive in designing and facilitating workshops to gain alignment and drive towards outcomes, collaborate with engineers to solve challenging problems in an innovative way
• Can articulate how you like to work - talking about a clear process for problem discovery through to ideation and testing
• Able to effectively communicate with executive stakeholders. Able to effectively influence the future vision of the product. 
• Are agile and enjoy the speed of a fast-paced, highly engaged startup environment.
• You are confident in interacting and communicating with customers in a range of scenarios, such as workshops, presentations and interviews.
• Are hands-on, curious and love to explore new domains and technologies and a critical thinker prepared to challenge the status quo
• Excited to build a product, that solves real users needs in a pragmatic and iterative way
