Principal Product Designer

We're seeking an ambitious and entrepreneurial Lead Product Designer with commerce experience in Enterprise SaaS lead design of our Orders Product Line. In this role, innovation is key. You'll deeply investigate the needs of our customers alongside the Order VP, PM lead and Engineering Lead by talking with and learning from executives and leaders of some of the largest companies in the world. This hire will also be a member of our UX/Design Leadership Team, helping us set the course and vision for our team, our culture, the Salsify platform and our collective future.

How You'll Make an Impact:

• Partner with the Orders product management lead, VP and engineering counterpart to define the “why” (problem space) and the desired customer and user outcomes
• Use your systems thinking, design, and problem solving skills to make complexity understandable, usable, and delightful for the folks who use our platform everyday
• Drive user and customer research (quantitative and qualitative)
• Lead UX and UI design efforts across your team, championing our customers while driving discussions, workshops, light prototyping, and polished UI design
• Make your mark on our design culture: participate in design reviews, present your work to internal and external audiences, give feedback to your peers, and help define and contribute to our design system, Habanero
• Grow – in your craft, in your responsibilities and in your career

You'll Enjoy This Role If You Have:

• An online portfolio showcasing outstanding product design outcomes and system thinking along with the chops to articulate how you and your team got to the solution and why
• The ability to work through ambiguity to definition and the fortitude to be wrong on your way to right
• A track record of distilling complex systems in an Enterprise SaaS platform into usable – even delightful – user experiences
• 5+ years in a UX Designer or Product Designer role or a year or so as a Senior Product and/or UX Designer
• Ability to communicate optimally with partners at all levels of seniority and to run your own workload
• Strategic, big-picture vision combined with tactical, GSD delivery
