At Pleo, we’re on a mission to change this. We’re here to make spend management surprisingly effective and empowering – for finance teams and employees.

We are looking for an absolutely awesome Principal Product Designer who thinks in leaps and holistic experiences and pays attention to the details and the finer points.

You dream in 4K, you are a designer heart, body and soul and you are never satisfied as things can always be better and you are here to make them so.

You will report into the VP of Design and be responsible for shaping and driving the conceptual direction of our product experience. You will be part of our Core Experience team who owns cross-product team elements (such as navigation, home screen etc) as well as holistic themes like aesthetics. 

What you will do

• Be a beacon of creative inspiration for our designers, product teams and company in general.
• Work in leaps to drive exceptional experiences that delight our customers whether they are card end-users or finance admins.
• Shape and evolve how our brand identity shows up in our product experience by being a strong partner to our brand design team.
• Work with our design directors to bring together holistic experiences across product teams. 
• Push us forward as a company. We are our own biggest competitor.

What you bring

• A nagging sense that things can always be better.
• Strong empathy and understanding of customers. You want to know them far better than their immediate product needs and you have a curiosity in human nature and behaviour. 
• Lateral thinking comes natural to you allowing you to bring unexpected and novel experience concepts and solutions to the table.
• Exceptional design skills. Traditional design theory mixed with years of experience delivering the best digital experience, an instinct for industry trends and a badass creative gutfeel.
• You know all the design tools, methods and processes, but you also know they are just means to an end. 
• You radiate a passion for all things design with a surplus of creativity that inspires your colleagues and the design industry as a whole.
• Experience in the financial sector a plus.
