At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

Join Our Team

As a Principal Product Designer, you will be a fundamental member of our Product Design team, working alongside some of the best product, engineering, design, and marketing talent. You will join forces with other UX designers/teams and will be responsible for conceiving, crafting, and owning the development of a wide range of experiences.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape company strategy and help entrepreneurs around the world build and grow their businesses. While you will design and oversee broad end-to-end customer experiences, your work will focus on our Commerce products and service offerings.

You’ll be a key leader in our thought process, deliverables, and visual direction. You’ll be a guide for our junior designers carefully advising them toward success. You’ll have the latitude to enact change and be part of a collaborative, customer-obsessed team that works to deliver experiences that empower our customers to see success as they define their online presence.

What you'll get to do...

  • Lead the creation and production of design solutions – conceiving end-to-end design strategies across a user's journey
  • Advocate for design excellence, craftsmanship, usability and experience
  • Establish a vision through simple, elegant designs and presentations
  • Evolve and invent new visual and interaction designs based on experience requirements, brand guidelines, and our user needs
  • Be a strategic creative problem solver and improver of visual design for GoDaddy
  • Provide art direction for our user interface: typography, iconography, illustration, graphics, and motion graphics
  • Collaborate effectively with other senior leaders, senior designers, content strategists, product managers, researchers, and technologists
  • Be a contributor and participator in group critique and constant iterative improvement
  • Work on multiple projects at one time, using strong communication skills to manage time, workflow, and expectations appropriately
  • Work with our design teams to mentor and coach standard processes, provide feedback, and collaborate to ensure design standards are being met

Your experience should include...

  • 10+ years of experience in delivering consumer software products to market
  • Demonstratable industry experience in a well-established, creative leadership role with a clear record of success
  • An Impressive portfolio of modern and progressive UI architecture, interaction, and visual designs
  • A strong sense of visual aesthetics and a consistent track record in the craft of design
  • Self-initiated achievements that show an ability to work through and across organizational lines
  • Highly developed abilities to present and explain solutions and decisions to collaborators in a style that fosters collaboration and consensus-building

You might also have...

  • BA or MA degree in interaction design, communication design, industrial design, HCI, or equivalent
  • Strong prototyping and/or motion skills
  • Commerce and/or payments experience
  • Figma experience
