About the role:

We are seeking an Operational Product Manager (OPM) to build and manage a growing community of content producers. The Content OPM will source, engage and guide freelance Content Experts as they create written and video content that showcases their expertise and helps people make buying decisions on the best products for their needs. 

With the goal of ramping content production via more creators to drive organic growth, you will build and ensure a seamless content production experience for our Content Experts, helping set Curated Experts up for success in content creation initiatives.

This is an ideal role for someone who loves collaborating with others, building out scalable strategies and operations, and supporting content creation efforts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of recruiting creatives, driving productivity, boosting retention, and motivating freelance teams. They will bring strategic program management skills to oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of our content production processes for our Content Experts across a diversity of fields - from golf, skiing, and snowboarding to coffee and kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead our strategy for building and retaining an organization of content producers (i.e. Content Experts)
  • Build scalable systems and processes to acquire Content Experts - across existing and new verticals - from sourcing to onboarding to meeting content production needs and facilitating a positive, streamlined, user-friendly experience
  • Manage Content Expert communications, foster a supportive and collaborative community environment, and drive increased engagement and retention
  • Develop and implement learning, development, and retention initiatives to encourage longevity and commitment
  • Manage Content Expert performance-based incentives
  • Analyze platform use and identify areas for improvement to enhance the expert experience and boost productivity
  • Conduct user research with experts to uncover actionable insights and become an advocate for the Content Expert experience
  • Design, implement, and manage content production workflows and processes, ensuring efficient operations across the content development cycle
  • Work closely with Content Experts to provide clear direction, support, and feedback to enhance performance and engagement
  • Build a content strategy for launching into new categories, helping the team identify content opportunities for Curated and setting Content Experts up for success
  • Collaborate with cross-channel partners, including Product, Design, Engineering, and User Research, to execute against the roadmap

Qualifications

  • 6-10 years of experience in business operations/strategy, management consulting, product management, or content operations at a high-growth start up
  • Demonstrated passion for content and content production
  • Empathy and proven interpersonal skills with a passion for understanding and working with people
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience defining and using metrics to understand performance, test theories, and measure success
  • Technical background with experience partnering with product and engineering teams
  • Independent mindset with demonstrated ability to implement initiatives quickly and act on insights from iterative experimentation
  • Proven experience in managing remote or freelance teams, with a track record of improving productivity and engagement
  • Self-motivated and organized, with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to collaborate and be a team player
  • Ability to actualize the abstract -- meaning, you can seamlessly translate from ideation to execution - even when there is no clear roadmap
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically with strong attention to detail
