  • Reporting to the Head of Research

As a User Research Manager, you’ll…

  • Own research objectives for your team in alignment with company strategy and lead the team’s work to successful outcomes. Proactively lead high-impact research initiatives to influence the product roadmap and strategy by uncovering user needs and answering critical business questions.

  • Review research plans and analysis to ensure the delivery of impactful, easy-to-understand, and widely applicable insights and findings. Combine qualitative and quantitative methods to craft clear, actionable narratives that drive alignment and decision-making.

  • Prioritize and evangelize data-driven decision making alongside our Insights team.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Product, Design, Insights, Engineering, and GTM teams to align research strategy and ensure insights shape the end-to-end customer experience.

  • Get into the weeds enough on research to ensure principled and confident decisions, and proactively ensure key milestones are communicated and met.

  • Stay on top of trends and best practices in Research with special attention to content and web development and AI to keep our products innovative and competitive.

  • Advocate for ethical, scalable, efficient, and impactful research practices across all aspects of our product development process.

  • Work with Insights leadership to create and uphold cultural initiatives that keep our research team engaged, excited, and close knit.

  • Cultivate talent on the team, growing both professional and technical skills for Researchers and assisting in hiring as we scale Research at Webflow.

  • Influence and support the formation of technical product roadmaps and tactical solution designs that are highly usable and useful to a diverse and global audience.

In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, at Webflow we will support you in identifying where your interests and development opportunities lie and we'll help you incorporate them into your role.

About you:

You’ll thrive as a User Research Manager if you have…

  • An extensive research portfolio showcasing expertise in leading highly technical products, with proven success in high-impact projects.

  • 2+ years of experience managing both junior and senior researchers on complex projects, setting strategy and breaking down complex asks into individual projects.

  • Comfort with stakeholder collaboration in a fully remote environment to discover insights, identify unmet needs, craft better products, and significantly impact company strategy.

  • Exceptional people-problem-solving skills, with a track record of improving research processes, supporting career growth in senior levels and above, and collaborating with cross-functional managers as a team.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate research vision and strategy at all organizational levels.

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to craft a long-term vision, while focusing on achievable but aspirational shorter term key objectives and results.

  • Bias toward advocating for mixed methods approaches, combining qualitative and quantitative data to minimize bias and deliver richer insights.

  • Experience leveraging common Research methodologies, including moderated and unmoderated usability studies, contextual inquiries, in-depth interviews, surveys (CSAT, UMUX, etc), and diary studies.

  • Willingness to sweat the details to ensure that the products that ship continuously exceed our customer’s expectations.

  • Examples of demonstrating any of the following qualities: growth mindset, shares work early and often, bias toward action, motivation to make things better, comfortable with ambiguity, love of craft & quality, and optimistic about the future.

Our Core Behaviors:

  • Obsess over customer experience. We deeply understand what we’re building and who we’re building for and serving. We define the leading edge of what’s possible in our industry and deliver the future for our customers
  • Move with heartfelt urgency. We have a healthy relationship with impatience, channeling it thoughtfully to show up better and faster for our customers and for each other. Time is the most limited thing we have, and we make the most of every moment
  • Say the hard thing with care. Our best work often comes from intelligent debate, critique, and even difficult conversations. We speak our minds and don’t sugarcoat things — and we do so with respect, maturity, and care
  • Make your mark. We seek out new and unique ways to create meaningful impact, and we champion the same from our colleagues. We work as a team to get the job done, and we go out of our way to celebrate and reward those going above and beyond for our customers and our teammates
