About This Role
WeWork is currently seeking a lighting subject matter expert to manage the Lighting Design for new and existing WeWork spaces around the globe. The Lighting Design Manager will work with our internal team of interior designers, architects, engineers, and facility managers to deliver spaces with high quality lighting systems.
Responsibilities
Provide lighting solutions for new and existing WeWork spaces
Develop and maintain global lighting and lighting controls standards
Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants on bespoke lighting solutions and special projects
Conceptualize and innovate with a multidisciplinary team, for continuous improvement of WeWork spaces
Deliver and oversee design presentations, layouts, specifications, budgets, details, mockups and as-built documents while navigating various production timelines
Model, calculate, and analyze standard and unique spaces to develop creative lighting solutions that meet varying jurisdiction code requirements
Support project managers during the construction process to meet budget targets and streamline procurement, while maintaining quality design
Implement lighting control systems into projects, review proposals from consultants/vendors, and support in commissioning of systems
Review and calculate code compliance of lighting systems (energy levels, controls requirements, dimming needs, etc)
Oversee the implementation of lighting standards on franchise projects
Support facility and operation teams with LED retrofits and lighting improvements
Visit sites to survey or ensure quality of installations
Who + What We’re Looking For
The Design Team is looking for motivated individuals with a love of learning and collaboration who are eager to join a workplace built around the mindset of “we” over “me”. We’re committed to investing in team member growth and encourage applicants to consider the direct and/or indirect ways in which they meet the following criteria.
10+ years of experience designing lighting solutions in a multi-disciplinary environment
5+ years of experience managing lighting designers and projects; including project scope and fee, process, project schedule, budget and deadlines
4 or 5 year degree or graduate degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Lighting, or other design related field
Solid foundation in the principles of light, balancing the visual impact and the inherent technology
Thorough understanding of the lighting design and procurement process
Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, AGi and Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Familiar with global lighting manufacturers and supplies
Experience with franchise is a benefit
Knowledge of daylighting principles and modeling techniques a benefit
Comfortable at constructing small scale mockups and electrical wiring
Excels at operating in a fast paced environment with multiple stakeholders
Compensation & Benefits
Base Pay: $121,100 - 161,500
Incentive Compensation: WeWork employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan specific to their role. Your recruiter will detail what incentive plan is applicable to this specific role. WeWork incentive plans are subject to the terms of the applicable incentive compensation plan, which will be made available to you after commencing employment. WeWork reserves the right to amend its incentive plans, and nothing in this job requisition or any other document creates a right to a specific incentive plan payment.
Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for comprehensive benefits (subject to the terms of applicable plans/policies/agreements, which will be made available to you after commencing employment), including 20 days of PTO, approximately 10 paid holidays, 80 hours of paid sick leave, 16 weeks paid parental leave, competitive healthcare benefits, Life & AD&D insurance.
