We call this the Internet of Value (IoV). Using blockchain and cryptocurrency technology, Ripple is dedicated to creating powerful gains in financial efficiency, equity and inclusion. In addition, Ripple is developing and enabling the future use cases that will catalyze the new digital economy for governments, businesses and consumers.

The Opportunity

Ripple is looking for a Lead UX Researcher to join the UX Research Team. Your expertise will help shape the future of crypto by partnering closely with Design, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to inform the design and development of groundbreaking new products.  You will have an exciting opportunity to dive deeply into our customer base by tackling challenging problems and unlocking value that will build and maintain trust in crypto.  You are self-motivated, detailed-oriented, and able to work efficiently and effectively with cross-functional teams. You are an advocate of our customers and are excited to work with teams to connect them with our customers closely and deliver actionable insights.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead research end to end using a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative techniques in order to generate actionable insights, informing strategic decision making for product and design in several market segments
  • Perform generative research, concept validation, and data-driven analysis, leading to influence product and design roadmaps and decisions
  • Partner closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, and other team members to plan and gather qualitative and/or quantitative insights, ensuring team engagement and collaboration throughout the process
  • Communicate research results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways; tailoring research findings to suit the audience, varying levels of detail and complexity as appropriate/required
  • Develop and evolve user personas and journeys that help team members across the company align and make better decisions
  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to surface internal user hypotheses, increase knowledge sharing, and spread user empathy
  • Launch quantitative surveys that can illuminate user behavior and preferences
  • Leverage product usage data and combine with qualitative insights to drive better decision making
  • Map out business processes and collaborative models that help the team understand what happens inside Ripple and its customer organizations
  • Grow Ripple’s database of high-quality user research participants, leveraging existing user recruitment vendors and recommending new ones as needed

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 8+ years of experience of performing user research for tech products, including at B2B companies
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • A portfolio or set of case studies that demonstrates the impact you’ve had at past companies including the specific business problems you tackled, your research approach, and the outcomes/results
  • A comprehensive research toolbox and a flexible approach to applying qualitative and/or quantitative research methods to filling gaps as they emerge
  • Understanding of quantitative, behavioral analysis and statistical concepts
  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated with a bias toward action
  • Empathetic and curious; a great listener with an uncanny ability to disarm people and learn unknown facts about them
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator; values over-communication while collaborating with remote co-workers located in different time zones
  • A global perspective and a commitment to diversity and representation
  • Experienced in collaborating closely with Product Designers and Agile engineering teams, taking in input on knowledge gaps and product improvement areas
  • A degree in Design, HCI, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, or a related field is considered an advantage

Preferred, but not required

  • Experience in research for the usage of API’s in technical integration
  • Experience in conducting research internationally

Bonus Points

  • Fintech experience, specifically in payments
  • A passion for crypto and blockchain technology
