We are looking for a Lead User Researcher to join N26’s UX Team.
In this role, you will be an integral part of our UX Core function, working closely with Research, Data, and Strategy specialists from various parts of the business. Together, you will ensure a strong organizational culture of experimentation and exploration by enabling insights-informed continuous learning. You will report to our UX Core Lead.
N26’s UX Team is part of the larger Product & UX organization. We are a multidisciplinary team of 40+ talented individuals (known as “UXers”), who practice Product Design, User Research, UX Writing, and Design Operations. Most of our UXers are distributed across various cross-functional teams, looking after different product verticals. We are led by our UX Director and our team is based in Berlin and Barcelona.
UX Core is a centralized function within our UX Team that establishes the foundation for all UX work to happen. UX Core is responsible for UX Operations and Design System, while also serving as incubator for new disciplines, such as Content Design.
UXers within UX Core work on strategic initiatives that directly contribute to our Product, Tech, and UX (known internally as “PTX”) OKRs, without shying away from hands-on work when needed. Simply put, UX Core provides the time, space, and tools to boost creativity, innovation, and efficiency for the larger team and organization.
You’ve been conducting research in a product or design environment for at least 5 years and have a proven track record of translating research findings into actionable insights that create impact
You are comfortable with a variety of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies used in user research.
You are experienced in mentoring others to start doing research or to deepen their research skills.
You think strategically. You are skilled at leading research efforts that yield actionable solutions and impact product strategy and business goals.
You're comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders and navigating complexity to arrive at a shared decision.
You enjoy keeping yourself up to date with the latest research practices and look for ways to keep growing the discipline and ways of working.
Advanced quantitative analysis skills (e.g., knowledge of SQL or SPSS) and fluency in European languages other than English is a plus.
Collaborate closely with Product Management, Product Marketing, Data Analytics, and Engineering to reframe problems from a user perspective and lead research that enable good decisions to be made.
Lead research across multiple teams and mentor other team members to ensure user-centered decision making and an exceptional user-centered experience.
Shape understanding of user research in the organization, evolving the way we work to best suit the organization’s needs and continuously find smarter and more effective ways to connect with users.
