About the Role

The Glassdoor Product group transforms complex problems into simple, intuitive user experiences for millions of people around the world. The UX Research function supports and guides our design process by producing illuminating, impactful insights which inform and improve our design decisions. Glassdoor's UX Research team is growing. We are looking for a Lead User Experience Researcher with 6-8+ years of experience who is passionate about making all of our product designs Accessible and inclusive. This highly independent Lead role will be aligned to work as a peer with our Design System leadership team (Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science). This team will focus their work on the design and implementation of a system of UI components and UX patterns that will be leveraged across all of Glassdoor's products and audiences in various product contexts (e.g. all navigation elements, all filters).

This person will guide the decisions we make for our Design System and socialize them across the organization to other Product Managers, Product Designers, and Engineers. As part of that socialization and communication, they will also ensure that our components and patterns are well documented so that our Product Designers and Engineers can easily and effectively use it to build our products!

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct qualitative and/or quantitative user experience research to analyze the usability of component design solutions in their contexts
  • Integrate Accessibility standards and guidelines, audits and/or user testing to support any affected populations (e.g. variants of color-blindness, screen readers)
  • Consider and evaluate component decisions through the lens of Localization on all of our Glassdoor domains (e.g. UK, DE)
  • Document, update, and share best practices and performance results from user experience research efforts across the Product and Engineering organizations
  • Continuously improve the usability of the Design System for internal users

What You'll Bring

  • A commitment to add to our culture of DEI
  • An undergraduate or Master’s degree in the social sciences, particularly Psychology or Human Computer Interaction
  • 6-8+ years leading UX research studies independently
  • Strong understanding of Product Design principles, including Accessibility and Localization
  • Broad experience across many digital platforms (native apps, mobile web experiences, desktop experiences, audio experiences, etc.), product stages (e.g. Live, A/B test, prototype), and audiences (e.g. B2B, B2C)
  • Proficiency with UX measurement (e.g. Heuristics, Benchmarking, SEQs, SUS)
  • Proficiency with research ops and a range of UX research tools and platforms (e.g. User Interviews, User Testing, Dscout, Optimal Workshop)

If continuing your UX research career with a good natured, collaborative team sounds exciting and meaningful, we’d love to hear from you.
