Grammarly’s mission is to improve lives by improving communication, and for users in the workplace, writing is often critical to their job success. The person in this role will work to make Grammarly an indispensable tool for key writing use cases, such as job descriptions, cold outreach messages, and sales pitches.

This is a senior individual contributor role with the potential to grow a team of product managers if successful. The person in this role will be responsible for a top company priority and this role’s success will significantly contribute to Grammarly’s overall monetization and usage metrics.

Your impact

As Lead Product Manager, Workplace Writing, you’ll be responsible for making Grammarly a must-have product for all people who write at work. This role will push your strategic thinking as you decide which user types to pursue and what development path to follow. You’ll also have an opportunity to work at the leading edge of natural language processing to create product features that will look like magic.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the end-to-end, multiyear strategy for making Grammarly indispensable for users at work.
  • Develop the roadmap and product specs, drive the feature to completion, and work closely with go-to-market teams to make sure the value you create gets into the hands of users.
  • Come up with innovative product ideas that combine simple, delightful design with state-of-the-art machine learning capabilities.
  • Create new features and product surfaces with your teams, as well as influence other product teams to incorporate the needs of workplace users into their roadmaps.
  • Represent the team’s work to senior leadership and the company at large.
  • Partner with engineering and design leaders to ensure a highly effective organization.
  • Be ultimately responsible for Grammarly’s adoption among workplace professionals.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Is highly creative—in order to both imagine the possibilities in harnessing new technology and humanize this technology into something useful and emotionally resonant.
  • Can weigh trade-offs and think through the long-term implications of their decisions—understanding the many paths this work can take and being able to think a year or more ahead and weigh them against each other.
  • Clearly articulates their understanding of the users, the market, and our opportunity in a way that facilitates debate and comprehension among cross-functional teams.
  • Loves thinking about what makes a sentence beautiful or an email clear and effective.
  • Has developed long-term, complex, cross-functional product plans and rallied cross-functional teams behind a product direction.
  • Has developed sophisticated metrics to measure the effectiveness of complex and innovative features—such as evaluating how an AI system has made a piece of writing clearer.
  • Is excited to be accountable for significant adoption and monetization goals.
  • Has a solid technical background, with a computer science degree or relevant work experience.
