Name of role: Lead Product Designer — Research
About the role
We are looking to hire a ‘Lead Product Designer – Research' who is passionate about researching finance products and defining the direction of our innovative banking platform, to ensure we are the core banking provider of choice globally.
We don’t just want to build to client demands — we want someone who can research and define the direction of the business and technology, so we remain ahead of our competitors by offering a more innovative banking platform, enabling our clients to build next-generation banking.
Our in-house Product Design Team is made up of versatile UX/UI Product Designers who are always developing and widening their skillsets and collaborating very closely with clients and fellow colleagues. Our Designers are highly skilled in Figma, and confident running their own user testing, writing scenarios, testing products, gathering insights, and designing innovative, and incredibly easy to use products.
10x Banking already has established banking clients, and has built a strong pipeline of business opportunities, ripe for research. We are well funded, with a high calibre Product & Engineering team and a good product roadmap.
You will use your Product Research to drive conversations with prospective clients, and to collaborate with them on building out innovative customer propositions. This research will also inform our industry Whitepapers, published regularly.
Requirements
You have at least ten years' experience in Product Design, plus:
- Extensive experience in the Fintech sector, with a good knowledge of banking products in multiple geographies: interest rates, fees and charges, rewards, eligibility, payments, loans, mortgages, credit cards, joint accounts
- Experience running research sessions, workshops and design thinking exercises both internally and with clients, engaging with executive level contacts
- Collaborating with senior engineers to explore innovative approaches to system design
- Conducting research with banking executives – CTO, COO, CIO etc.
- You've worked on SaaS products
- Strong collaboration skills: presenting research, prototypes, and running UX workshops and research, remotely using Figma. Confident presenting work to large audiences and senior stakeholders
- You know UX design inside-out: Design Thinking, Information Architecture, Flow Maps, Prototyping, User Testing and iterating
- You are comfortable working strategically across multiple cross-functional squads
- You’re confident running Product Discovery projects, interviewing banking executives to discover needs and synthesise findings to help us build the right product
And bonus points if...
- You have experience working with APIs
- Confident creating videos or animations of you presenting work and concepts to communicate internally across the business and externally to executive level
- You have experience of agile design and development cycles
- You're an enthusiastic self-starter who looks for new ways of working, explores best practices and delivers imaginative approaches to communication challenges
