Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora,你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA.But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment this role is focused on:

  • Working with the internal apps team’s Product Manager and Engineers to design Canvaworld, the digital representation of Canva, with a focus on an outstanding and flawless user experience.
  • Conducting end-to-end user journey design and communicate effectively with a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Being a champion for making complex things simple and enjoyable for our end users (all Canvanauts)!
  • Engaging with partners from the broader IT Group perspective to understand their pain points and needs, identify gaps/opportunities and continuously explore and investigate ambiguous problems.
  • Helping our IT teams identify and understand our user needs as they interact with IT products and services.
  • Supporting problem identification, by facilitating fact-finding and problem-discovery workshops across our teams.
  • Acting as a multiplier to educate the teams with a product design approach and establish new processes.

You're probably a match if

  • You have 5+ years of Product Design experience - designing, shipping and iterating on multiple complex digital products/features; leading and owning the end-to-end Product Design process.
  • You enjoy defining problems, navigating ambiguity, getting buy-in, creating processes, and crafting the design to deliver value
  • You are a Designer who is constantly inspired—motivating those around you through your passion and drive for what you do.
  • You are excited by regularly coming up with new ideas, shipping new products and features that address your ‘users' real needs.
  • You shine through your designs — creating user flows and wireframes that simplify user interactions
  • You appreciate big-picture thinking. While details are everything, creating a seamless and engaging experience that always keeps our users in mind is equally important.
  • You have experience establishing design principles and practices that will empower and amplify other team members to deliver exceptional and consistent experiences.

About the Team

  • The Information Technology group’s vision is to enhance the potential of every Canvanaut through redefining technology & service. We deliver value across the organization by making the lives of our Canvanauts simple and cheerful when using technology to deliver against bigger and bigger goals.
  • This role mainly partners with our Internal Applications team, which creates bespoke internal products such as Canvaworld, our very own Canvanaut experience portal which acts as our digital hub for all 4500+ Canvanauts across the globe, as well as tools like translation bot and URL shortener to help us operate efficiently as we rapidly scale our headcount.
  • These products are tailored to Canva’s needs and help us maintain our culture. We are looking for an enthusiastic Product Designer with a user-centric mentality to contribute to a versatile team to ensure the continued success of our internal apps.
