What if… your work empowered change in an industry that essentially impacts the prosperity of the entire world? Forto is in business to exactly do that – disrupt logistics! Simplifying global trade has been our mission from day one. Our exponentially growing team of technology and logistics experts forge ahead each day to deliver a highly transparent, frictionless, and sustainable digital supply chain while chasing our moonshot goal of achieving climate-neutral operations by 2025.

In our Product department we solve the biggest challenge of global logistics and supply chain management: reducing the industry's high complexity with a digital and sustainable approach. We set a clear mission to make shipping products as easy as sending emails and follow a collaborative process for a superior customer experience. We design tech-enabled solutions and operations to make innovative, sustainable logistics accessible to everyone.

Your role: Designing the future of global trade

Join us in our mission to simplify global trade. At Forto, our design team crafts exceptional end-to-end experiences that streamline the entire process — from quotation and booking to document management, tracking, proactive exception handling, and supply chain data analytics. You will work on the logistics experience of the future by integrating automation and collaborative tasks with GenAI, ensuring a seamless flow of goods worldwide.

We are seeking an accomplished Lead Product Designer to develop products that support our global customers, partners, and operations teams. In this role, you will lead the design vision and execution within a specific problem space, collaborating closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Researchers to enhance the freight service experience. The ideal candidate thrives in autonomy and is passionate about making a significant impact in a dynamic and evolving environment in a user-centered manner.

You will

  • Work with design leadership to shape the vision and strategy for design at Forto.
  • You will be responsible for creating the design vision and its execution for your problem space.
  • Influence product direction by applying your deep expertise in your domain and understanding of users, while utilizing advanced technologies like GenAI.
  • Deliver high-quality, user-centric, measurably impactful end-to-end design work.
  • Advocate for a strong user-focused point of view in your product area.
  • Formulate hypotheses together with Product Managers and run experiments.
  • Work closely with cross-functional peers and business stakeholders to help define requirements based on empirical data, usability findings, market research and proven user-centered design principles.
  • Define measures of success, using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Closely collaborate with our Research team to gather customer insights, identify opportunities, and validate solutions.
  • Communicate/pitch design decisions to design and product leadership.
  • Actively contribute and shape the future of Forto’s design system.
  • Mentor other designers and help them grow by serving as an example.
  • Set the bar for the quality of the design craft and help improve our ways of working.

What you bring

The ideal candidate for this role can help lay the groundwork to set complex problem spaces up for success and provide exceptional hands-on execution.

  • 8+ years experience with end-to-end product design (B2B experience preferable)
  • Ability to think through complex processes and user interactions
  • Problem-solver mindset, focusing on outcomes over output
  • Sharp understanding of how design decisions impact business objectives and KPIs
  • Experience in planning, running and sharing insights from UX Research activities
  • Experience in validating design solutions using qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Ability to articulate design decisions, with an iterative mindset and openness to learn and adapt
  • Strong expertise in working with Figma and state-of-the-art design systems
  • Strong technical acumen, particularly in frontend technologies
  • Strong communicator (verbal and written) and user advocate
  • Proactive and comfortable working autonomously
