Most people come to Cleo to do work that matters. Every day, we empower people to build a life beyond their next paycheck, building a beloved AI that enables you to forge your own path toward financial well-being.

Backed by some of the most well-known investors in tech, we’ve reached millions of people to support them throughout their financial lives, from their first paycheck to their first home and beyond. We're hitting headlines too. This year, Forbes named us as one of their Next Billion Dollar Startups, and we were crowned the 'Hottest Tech Scaleup' at the Europas.

Follow us on LinkedIn to keep up to date with new product features and insights from the team.

On the frontier of design

We're moving through uncharted territory with brand new design challenges around conversation, UI, brand, TOV and applied machine learning AI that don’t have much precedent yet. We’re using all that to help people improve their financial health, solving money problems that make a very real and tangible difference to our users.

The role

You’ll be joining a new design-led, cross-functional squad focused on evolving, improving and implementing Cleo’s nascent design system - Cleonardo. This work is crucial to support the consistency of the user experience across the entire Cleo product, as well as the pace and quality of work being delivered as we enter our next, exciting phase of growth. The team will also be tackling larger user experience projects that cut across many areas of the business and therefore need a more strategic approach.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support your squad with auditing and prioritising Design System work to be done
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders in pillars and chapters across Cleo
  • Communicating and educating the design team and wider business on improvements and work being carried out
  • Foundational Design System set-up and roll-out
  • Contribute to cross-cutting strategic design projects

  • Deep understanding of how to create usable, accessible, and modular designs that can scale to millions of users.
  • Experience working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid-growth environment.

  • Deeply curious about people's relationship with money
  • You’re impact driven. You’re excited that an idea you and the team have on a Monday could be live and pushing the numbers by a Friday!
  • Experienced in working closely with engineers and other designers
  • A strong communicator who is capable of bringing people together and establishing clarity
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy creating structure where there is none
  • You understand experimentation & analysis and incorporate it into your design decisions
  • You ideally have 6+ years of experience within Product Design and 2+ years with design systems

Please note that, at this time, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for the Lead Product Designer role. Only candidates who do not require visa sponsorship should apply. Thank you for understanding
