About the Role
Matterport is looking for a great design team leader, systems-level thinker, and visionary. Our ideal candidate has an uncanny sense for clean design, is a fierce advocate for the user, and is committed to creating elegantly simple user experiences from otherwise complex workflows. You’ll be working with our WebGL 3D Experiences team to maintain and evolve our current toolset for 3D spaces (labels, tags, notes, measurements, tours, blur), conceptualize and design new product features, and explore new ways to navigate and understand 3D space.
You should have a passion for customers, strong communication skills, and the ability to think conceptually while also focusing on crucial details. Comfortable presenting and articulating design reasoning with stakeholders and working through implementation details with product and engineering teams. A flexible team player who knows how to work smart with constraints while advocating for excellent design standards along every step of the way.
Matterport is a remote workplace with headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA. This position can be based remotely in the United States #LI-Remote
What you will do:
- Own end-to-end design problems across multiple platforms (iOS, Android, Web), from understanding users, to pushing our thinking with a variety of options, to designing detailed workflows and interfaces.
- Apply your passion for problem solving to guide design processes, mentor talented members of the team, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to create innovative experiences.
- Define, implement and manage design rhythms, tools, methodologies and best practices.
- Work across organizational boundaries to define, manage and prioritize work, with a focus on collaboration.
Who you are:
- 10+ years of product design & user research experience
- Strong portfolio that highlights elegant solutions to complex problems
- An incredible eye for detail and mastery of all applicable design software (Cinema 4D, Blender, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite)
- Experience working with 3D and designing in AR/VR
- Experience working with data to inform design decisions
- Experience working with both product, marketing, and engineering teams
We want to hear from you! We are looking to build the best team of people who will be empowered to do their best work. If you have what it takes, but don’t necessarily meet every bullet in the job description we encourage you to apply.
