Working at Atlassian

Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Assuming you have eligible working rights and a sufficient time zone overlap with your team, you can choose to work remotely or return to an office as they reopen (unless it’s necessary for your role to be performed in the office). Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

We're on a mission to empower diverse teams to work differently, together. We're looking for a Lead Product Designer to join our Work Management, Solution Experience team.
We believe teams should never compromise on the best tool for the job, and diverse teams will require a diversity of fit-for-purpose tools. We support this belief by helping customers cut down on the collaborative friction that comes with an increase in tool adoption and data sprawl. Our team creates solutions to help customers onboard and adopt practices and tools for distributed ways of working. We create efficient administration and permission experiences so admins can allow as many diverse tools as their end-users need and want for the job.

Your future team

As a Lead Product Designer for our Solution Experience team, you'll work teams across our portfolio of Work Management products like Confluence and Trello and collaborate with our platform and customer success teams to deliver cohesive end-to-end customer experiences. You'll report to the Head of Design for our Work Management product group and be part of a growing and thriving Atlassian Customer Experience team, committed to putting our customers first.

What you'll do

  • Lead some of our most impactful design projects and help improve the way our teams develop products and raise the quality bar for our users.
  • You'll also have an important role to play in developing design craft by mentoring other designers.
  • You'll have a large amount of ownership and autonomy across the entire design process; rather than designing individual features, you'll define the end-to-end experience.
  • Collaborate with some of the industry's smartest (and nicest) people. You'll collaborate with Engineers, Product Managers, Content Designers, Researchers, Marketing Experts, and more.
  • Be a true champion for our users. We take design seriously, and following one of our core values ("Don't F the Customer"). We want to make our customers love how easily our products help them.

Your background

  • 9+ years of professional UX/product design experience, designing complex or enterprise-level software
  • Background in interaction design, systems design, growth experimentation, go-to-market strategy, or enterprise design of large-scale where a design system has been applied
  • Strong facilitation and collaboration skills: you can demonstrate the ability to work with multiple teams, solicit and summarize feedback, and facilitate design discussions
  • Openness to the iterative design process – always sketching, showing work in progress, validating with customers and data, iterating, shipping, and learning
  • Experience conducting and applying customer research, including design thinking, prototyping, and conceptual modeling
  • Experience improving process and methodology to increase product quality, team velocity, and customer empathy
