Lead Design Program Manager

About the role 

Chime is looking for great Design Program Managers to join our fast-growing design team. We're looking for people who are passionate about design and excited about making an impact. DPMs at Chime are strategic partners and play a critical role in driving operations, systems, tools, and processes that empower the design team to produce world-class work.

This is a highly cross-functional role that requires strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills to improve team cohesion, increase efficiency, build a healthy operational framework, and scale design's impact within Chime. We have a high bar for design work at Chime, and DPMs play an integral role in helping us reach this standard.

For Colorado based roles:  In accordance with applicable law, this role has an annual starting salary of $130,000 plus bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits (see below). The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

• Advocate for design by ensuring the design team has time and space to apply sound design practices in the product development lifecycle.
• Operate holistically by bringing all the critical pieces together – strategy, business objectives, design, execution, technology, and customer needs.
• Be the primary point of contact for tracking, reporting, status, prioritization, blockers, and dependencies by facilitating exceptional collaboration and communication across product teams.
• Organize and plan projects from start to finish, including project kickoffs, scoping and alignment, streamlining conversations, and establishing action items and owners to ensure we follow through to maintain momentum.
• Communicate clearly and create best practices for meeting facilitation and connecting with cross-functional teams.
• Move us forward by driving complex programs to help the Design teams scale, including prioritization and planning, resource management, and program tracking.
• Drive efficiencies by developing and implementing repeatable processes across the design lifecycle.

To thrive in this role, you have

• At least 6 years experience managing interactive, web/mobile, or product design projects as part of an in-house product design team or a design consultancy
• Impressive verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
• Incomparable team-building and conflict resolution skills
• Outstanding organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
• A cool head, quick wit, and enthusiasm
• A knack for driving conversations and navigating ambiguity
• Ability to be self-directed and take initiative
