About Faire
Faire is an online wholesale marketplace built on the belief that the future is local — there are over 2 million independent retailers in North America and Europe doing more than $2 trillion in revenue. At Faire, we're using the power of tech, data, and machine learning to connect this thriving community of entrepreneurs across the globe. Picture your favorite boutique in town — we help them discover the best products from around the world to sell in their stores. With the right tools and insights, we believe that we can level the playing field so that small businesses everywhere can compete with these big box and e-commerce giants.
By supporting the growth of independent businesses, Faire is driving positive economic impact in local communities, globally. We’re looking for smart, resourceful and passionate people to join us as we power the shop local movement. If you believe in community, come join ours.
About this role
As one of our earliest Content Designers at Faire, you’ll join a tight-knit, collaborative design team that cares deeply about creating beautiful and intuitive experiences for our customers. In this role, you’ll help shape Faire’s brand voice from within our product interfaces, writing product narratives and developing content frameworks that balance personality and delight with usability. Working with team members across product design, engineering, product management, and marketing, you’ll strive to understand our business goals and customers’ challenges to craft elegant flows and content design systems that help people successfully engage with our product and move through our experience with confidence.
We’re looking for design-minded writers and content strategists who care about getting to know our customers, about the nuances of language and tone, and about the role of narrative in UX and product strategy.
This role can be based in San Francisco, CA, Los Angeles, CA, New York City, NY, Atlanta, GA, Toronto, ON, Kitchener, ON or remote.
What you’ll do
Qualifications
Experience shipping product
You’ve worked with designers, engineers, and PMs to take a feature from initial concept to live code. You know how to roll up your sleeves and dig in on content design needs, whether it’s rethinking information architecture, reducing friction in a flow, or developing a new messaging framework. You can speak the language of interaction design and have solid product intuition, and you’re ready to advocate for cohesive content experiences.
An agile, collaborative leader
You have experience setting direction for large bodies of content design projects—advocating for and defining the business value of your work and bringing your partners, stakeholders, and leadership along in your design process. You’re a bridge-builder who is able to inspire and influence key stakeholders to keep high-impact work moving forward.
A knack for simplifying
Whether it’s turning a run-on into a 3-word phrase or defining the “so what” of a new feature, you’re a master simplifier. You help teams fight the urge to over-explain by partnering with design to create experiences that are deceptively simple and intuitive.
A love for words
You understand the power of a perfectly timed pun. You know how to use punctuation to add rhythm, humor, or weight to a sentence. You have an opinion about em-dashes. Writing is your craft, and you find ways to infuse delight into the right moments to help bring our brand to life.
We value candidates that bring a range of experience from different industries and a variety of creative influences. If you’re a maker or retailer yourself and can bring first-hand experience and empathy for the small business and entrepreneurial journey, tell us your story!

Roles that list only a country in the location are eligible for fully remote work in that country or in- office work at a Faire office in that country, provided employees are located in the registered country/province/state. Roles with only a city location are eligible for in-office or hybrid office work in that city. Our talent team will work with candidates to determine what locations and roles are eligible for each option.
