Junior UX Researcher job at Moneybox

We are looking for a Junior to Mid-weight UX Researcher to join our small but growing UX Research department.

You’ll see projects all the way from start to completion, helping to recruit participants, plan sessions, facilitate, come up with findings through in-depth analysis, as well as producing and delivering research reports and outputs. Although part of a close-knit team, you will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy.

We don’t expect you to have used all research tools under the sun but it’s very important that you understand the main approach involved in planning UX research and the scientific way to get reliable results. We want you to appreciate research as a team sport and work closely with designers and product teams to deliver compelling and intuitive experiences that solve real problems.

We’re looking for someone who’s hungry to learn and cultivate their skills, be flexible, positive and are keen to experience the exciting environment of a fast growing start up. Through this process you will advance your knowledge and expertise via close mentorship with our UX Research Lead.

What you’ll do

Plan and conduct primary and secondary user research, initially under guidance from a Lead Researcher. Including usability testing (moderated and unmoderated), user interviews, contextual enquiry, surveys, etc.
Support Product UX designers and product owners with research.
Collaborate and work in cross-functional teams to verify and validate ideas and uncover insights.
You’ll work closely with product managers, data scientists and engineering teams to make sure all teams are delivering value to customers and prioritising research opportunities and delivering user experience in an agile, dynamic, iterative environment.
Help with the operational aspects of research (incl. recruiting users, planning sessions and organising data for analysis )
Take an active role in building our research repository. This will involve evaluating quantitative and qualitative research, understanding and tagging research, and creating actionable insights.
You’ll help build our understanding of our customers' needs in order to ensure we are focused on solving the right things for customers.
You will safeguard the UX research practice by making sure that research related decisions are conscious, we follow best practice methods and tools, driving self serve research amongst the team through coaching them, as well as delivering research projects yourself.
You will manage stakeholders that have little experience with User Research and showcase the value and process of doing proper research.
Influence, challenge and enable teams to deliver high quality product experiences.
You will report directly to our UX research Lead and be based in the London office on a hybrid basis (2 days per week in the office, 3 days per week at home).

Who you are

You have experience with evaluative research methods and are comfortable independently initiating, running and communicating research. Experience with generative methods is a plus.
You are comfortable organising, selecting, planning and running qual and quant design research activities and drawing insight from research findings and creating appropriate research deliverables for your programme of work.
You are able to facilitate a broad range of UX research methods. For example, face-to-face interviews, observations, stakeholder workshops, remote sessions, etc.
You can make effective decisions; use sound judgement, data, evidence and insight to arrive at accurate, expert and professional decisions and advice. You are able to guide the team on how to act on your rich insights..
You can balance user goals and business objectives with brand, time, budget, and technology.
You’re comfortable presenting, especially when it comes to sharing impactful insights.
You’re able to work autonomously, as well as collaboratively within a team – whether that be your product team, a wider research team, or design team.
You thrive in a fast paced environment where you can use lightweight processes, creative ideas and quick iteration to have a huge impact.
You’re a quick learner, always open-minded, curious and eager to learn new skills.
You have an ability to make complex ideas simple to understand and easy to use.
