Head of Product Writing - Cash App

Writing at Cash App is unique in that marketing copywriters and UX/product writers form one team. They work together on voice, tone, and style, ensuring consistency across everything from ads to error messages. The team is hiring an experienced UX writing leader to own the product writing function. This person will report into the head of writing and be charged with building out the product writing team and developing it as a critical function within the design organization. 

As the product writing lead, you’ll:

• Hire and manage a team of product writers, developing their careers, reviewing work, and managing performance
• Create and maintain team resources like career frameworks
• Lead team meetings and critiques, seeking regular feedback from the team on what’s working and what can be improved
• Set a high bar for writing quality and lead efforts to evangelize and update our style guide
• Partner with other writing leads to ensure consistency of our voice across brand and product
• Develop a strong point of view on how product writing can better position itself and build influence
• Build partnerships with cross-functional leaders, educating them on our process and advocating for the function
• Work closely with product design, research, and operations leads on planning, staffing, process improvements, and design team culture
• Be hands-on as needed on critical projects, working alongside designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers across verticals like banking and investing
   

You have:

• 10+ years experience in UX writing, content design, product content strategy, or whatever you happen to call it
• 5+ years experience managing product writers (even better if you’ve managed product writing managers), with examples of how you’ve contributed to product writing as a function
• Exceptional writing/editing skills and passion for the craft, plus strong design/systems thinking and product strategy chops
• Experience building successful cross-functional partnerships with leaders
• A portfolio that showcases your writing
