About Us:

We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.

We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like Pixar, Mitsubishi, Figma, Plaid, Match Group, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.

About The Role:

At its core, Notion builds software that empowers customers to solve their own problems. We deliver customers, creators, and developers a set of building blocks that enables them to make software to solves their own problems, just the way they want to. Given that, Notion can be used for almost anything: for writing and sharing docs, as a wiki, for managing projects and tasks, and more.

In this role, you’ll lead the creation of new building blocks and APIs for our creator and developer communities, expanding what they can build on Notion. You’ll be responsible for inspiring these communities with in-product features and example connections and extensions. You’ll help members build and share their first Notion templates, services, products and businesses, while improving Notion’s core functionality to support them. We expect that you’ll be able to:

  • Hit the ground running: We’ve just released our first APIs for general availability, and have the beginnings of a developer site and community. While our community is active and engaged, we have a lot more to do to support them — and you’ll help by setting product direction and community coordination at this early stage.
  • Build and support an engaged community: Our customers and our community are extremely creative and passionate about the product and the opportunity to build with our APIs. You'll have an immediate audience of over 15K+ developers who are dedicated and enthusiastic, that we want to inspire — to do that, you’ll need to provide tools and documentation, but also get out into the community and hear and learn about what people are trying to build.
  • Grow and foster a multi-disciplinary team environment: You'll work closely with engineering, developer advocacy, partnerships, marketing, operations and all of our other product teams to help expand our platform, creating great experiences for developers, their teams, and in turn, our customers. You’ll hire a set of product managers to drive progress across our APIs, core services, in-product experiences and partner programs.

What You'll Do:

  • You'll help build and execute on Notion's long-term product vision, goals, metrics and strategy.
  • You'll translate that strategy into concrete plans and objectives over the short- and medium-term — including a developer-facing external roadmap.
  • You’ll act as an internal advocate for Notion’s developer and creator communities, ensuring their needs are being prioritized in our everyday work.
  • You'll work closely with our Data Science, BizOps and Finance teams to ensure we're using the right metrics to inform our product roadmap and to measure success.
  • You'll help design the product function at Notion—what it's responsible for, how it interfaces with other teams, and how it'll grow and develop over time.

What We're Looking For:

  • You have a strong track record of shipping developer-facing and consumer-facing products that customers love.
  • You collaborate well cross-functionally—especially with engineering, marketing, sales, and support—to get an organization working together towards strategic objectives.
  • You have experience using both quantitative data (e.g., metrics, analytics) and qualitative data (e.g., user feedback) to inform product prioritization. You can analyze data yourself by writing SQL queries and using data analysis tools.
  • You have a Computer Science background or equivalent technical experience.
  • You have built, or are committed to building, diverse and inclusive product teams.

Bonus Points:

  • You have experience hiring and managing product managers.
  • You've heard of computing pioneers like Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay, and others—and understand why we're big fans of their work.
  • You've built something on the Notion API, and understand it’s strengths and weaknesses.

Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for small businesses, you will find a home at Notion.
