About the role:

As the Head of Product, Data Ecosystem, you will be a key strategic leader responsible for shaping and driving the vision of our organization's internal data ecosystem, hosted on our own platform, Abstra. This platform includes a data catalog and self-service ingestion capabilities. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of product management and data strategy for AI use. You will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing the data strategy, ensuring the seamless integration of data products, and leveraging data to drive business insights and innovation for the scientists who are working on biomedical research.

In particular, you will:

Manage Owkin’s Data Ecosystem, ranging from data ingestion to knowledge graphs (and everything in between). Subjects include (but are not limited to) things such as ingestion, infrastructure, APIs, governance, compliance, representation, UX/UI of the data catalog, discoverability, content management, accessibility, insights, data viz, and knowledge graphs.
Define, implement and lead the vision and strategy for 2-3 squads, focused on making data accessible and actionable inside Owkin’s organization of data scientists and biomedical researchers.
Ensure that Owkin’s data strategy is scalable, increasingly actionable, aligns with overall business objectives, and drives innovation and competitive advantages.
Work closely with developers to ensure the successful implementation of data products.
Establish clear success metrics and drive the team to deliver products that exceed business expectations.
Establish and enforce robust data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Drive initiatives to improve data quality, accuracy, and overall performance.
Ensure seamless integration and evangelization of data products across the organization.
Collaborate with several teams to implement a ‘build vs buy’ strategy.
Create compelling narratives about our data catalog that allow Owkin to impress our prospects and investors.
Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to understand their data needs and align with strategic goals.

Position is based in our Paris, Nantes or London offices or remotely in EU (with regular travel to Paris).

About you

Required qualifications / experience:

Proven experience in data, especially the use of data for AI
Experience in product management, with proven record of developing and executing product strategies and roadmaps
Strong understanding of data technologies, including databases, processing, analytics, cloud platforms and services, and machine learning
Excellent communication and organization skills
Strong leadership skills
Understanding of data privacy laws and regulations
Excellent English skills
Familiarity with software development processes and methodologies
Business acumen and strategic thinking skills

Preferred qualifications/bonus:

Knowledge of health informatics, biomedical research, or associated fields
Data engineering and/or data science skills
Experience with Agile methodologies
Previous experience as a manager
