What You'll Be Doing: The Mandate
- Product strategy: Identify and synthesize complex market trends and merchant feedback into actionable strategic shifts, ensuring the product roadmap remains bold yet achievable.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the planning and execution of talent programs (e.g., promotions, training, talent planning), of leadership alignment (e.g., leadership offsites and meetings), of cross-functional product reviews (e.g., strategy and launch reviews). Work with product leaders to ensure consistency in operating cadence across their organizations.
- Proxy: Act as a proxy for the leader in meetings and with stakeholders across engineering, commercial, operations and functional teams, and with customers to ensure alignment on product launches and commercial goals.
- Communication: Help the leader with internal and external communications, ensuring a consistent and authoritative voice on product strategy, priorities, product discipline and culture.
- Special projects: Lead high-impact, often ambiguous projects that don't yet have a natural home—ranging from internal restructuring to evaluating new markets.
- Chicago Site Leadership (if in Chicago): As a key leader in the Chicago tech hub, build out a strong customer-centric and tech culture for Adyen in the US, identifying opportunities for teams to collaborate together as well as drive visibility and interaction externally with the Chicago tech community.
Who You Are: The Essential Profile
- We're seeking a creative and high-EQ leader with 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Business Operations, or in a Chief of Staff (or similar) role in a global, tech-forward organization. You are comfortable working with global teams across time zones, and are also willing to travel regularly (1x/quarter) to meet with them.
- You are an out-of-the-box thinker: You love solving complex problems. You are excellent at drawing clarifying insights and identifying areas of improvement.
- You roll-up your sleeves: You are proactive, and move quickly to deliver long-term solutions.
- You are Org-first: You are a team player who optimizes for the needs of the organization (over your own). You collaborate well with everyone, ensuring win-win outcomes.
- You are a clear communicator: You are succinct in your communications, “cutting to the chase” to deliver key messages with clarity, while ensuring they resonate with the audience.
